Uppsala District Court is a court with over 110 employees. The court handles more than 11,000 cases and matters each year.

The jurisdiction covers the entire Uppsala County.

The court is located in central Uppsala, with good communication links to the Stockholm area.

Job Description

As an acting judge, you will handle all types of cases and matters that occur at the district court. Here, judges, clerks, court administrators, and other administrative staff work together and take joint responsibility for ensuring that cases and matters are resolved efficiently and legally securely. The court is divided into three adjudicating departments, where each judge is responsible for a specific area. The possibilities for delegation are utilized extensively, and the court is undergoing exciting development work, where we gradually gain more advantages from digitalization. The goal is for you as a judge with us to be able to focus on adjudication tasks and mentoring younger lawyers in training.

Qualifications

The role of acting judge places high demands on legal skills, judgment, ability to collaborate, work capacity, and independence. The district court continuously works to develop and digitalize its operations, and you should be willing to participate in this development work and continuously test and evaluate new working methods. You should have the desire and ability to contribute to the court meeting high standards of quality. You should also have well-developed collaborative skills to contribute to a pleasant workplace.
