Our Mission
The unit in Västmanland consists of approximately 170 employees.
The unit is responsible for a geographical area covering ten municipalities. The workplace is Västerås. Travel for work is included, as well as work with job seekers and employers throughout the county.
Job Description
We are now looking for employment officers who can easily work towards set goals, in a legally secure manner through regulations and ordinances, and based on clear process descriptions. The work includes assessing job seekers' needs in relation to the labor market, making decisions about appropriate interventions, and following up on those interventions in a legally secure manner.
We are looking for someone who enjoys working more deeply with individuals who, for various reasons, have difficulty entering the labor market. The work includes mapping the job seeker's work conditions, matching, acquiring workplaces, introducing them to work, and following up, which involves support for both the job seeker and the employer. The job entails extensive and frequent contact with employers in both the private and public sectors. You need to have a good ability to be proactive and take your own initiatives in your work to create good business relationships.
Qualities We Are Looking For
To succeed, you need to be able to work independently, be meticulous yet able to work at a fast pace, and be able to conduct conversations and carry out the agency's assignments. Therefore, you need to be efficient and productive. You should be able to apply rules and regulations while also being able to coach and have difficult conversations with job seekers. The work also includes bringing together job seekers with employers in a structured and professional manner.
The assignment of the Employment Service is often adjusted and changed, which means you need to be adaptable and flexible, able to adjust and take on new challenges as they arise. You also find it easy to explain pedagogically and engage in dialogue in various ways depending on the target group.

Our Offer
The position is a permanent full-time employment that begins with a six-month probationary period. Start date is according to agreement. The workplace is Västerås. There is a possibility to work remotely to some extent after the six-month probationary period.

Basic Qualifications
- University/college education of at least 180 higher education credits (120 credits according to the previous system)
- Alternatively, you have been employed as an employment officer at the Employment Service and are assessed to have good prospects of meeting today's requirements for employment officers
And
- At least 2 years of work experience, collectively working at least 50 percent over a total of 2 years
- Good knowledge of Swedish, i.e., a good ability to communicate in speech and writing, as well as high reading comprehension
- Driving license B
Other Merits for the Position
- Experience of public authority exercise
- Current experience from work as an employment officer
- Knowledge of SIUS methodology
- Experience from working with people with disabilities
- Ability to create good business relationships
- Experience from working with work-oriented rehabilitation
