Strategic Developer for InVästmanland

Are you an experienced and strategic individual with solid knowledge in land and development who wants to play a key role in the development of Västmanland? Now you have the chance to work on the InVästmanland project – a new and exciting initiative aimed at strengthening Västmanland's position as an attractive region for business establishments and investments.

Job Responsibilities

InVästmanland aims to enhance the region's attractiveness and create more sustainable jobs. Your task is to identify opportunities for new and existing companies to establish and grow in the region. Together with the project manager, you will act as a strategic support for our partners and guide the way forward. You will work proactively to identify and create conditions for more jobs and economic growth.

The goal of the project is to build a structure where Västmanland's municipalities, the region, and national organizations work together for new business establishments and investments in existing companies. In this project, you will strengthen the county's ability to attract establishments and follow-up investments. By collaborating with municipalities, regions, and businesses, you will play a key role in shaping the future of Västmanland. Your assignment includes providing concrete support to the municipalities regarding land and development issues through coaching and training initiatives. You will work on effective tools, working methods, and strategies that enhance the municipalities' land readiness. By analyzing detailed plans, mapping land, premises, and other important factors, you will create the best conditions for new establishments. You will identify and support investors' expectations and needs, both regarding existing companies and new establishments, and participate in creating strategic partnerships with key organizations for the project.

Your Responsibilities Include:

• Analyzing the region's conditions for establishments and expansion opportunities.
• Mapping and analyzing detailed plans, land, premises, and other important factors that contribute to improving the conditions for new investments and establishments.
• Developing and coordinating establishment processes by coordinating the work of various stakeholders.
• Maintaining ongoing dialogue with various stakeholders, such as public actors, property owners, and business representatives.
• Supporting partners in their establishment and growth processes through strategic advice.

About the Workplace

The position is located within the Community Development department, which is part of the Regional Development Administration. You will also work closely with the administration's business development operations. The administration leads and coordinates regional development work based on the county's regional development strategy. Within the community development department, issues related to community planning, such as infrastructure and broadband expansion, are included.

The workplace is in Västerås, but there are good opportunities to perform parts of the work remotely. Travel occurs, mainly within Västmanland and nearby counties.

Qualifications

You who are applying have relevant academic education in areas such as community planning, property economics, or equivalent experience, as well as documented experience in establishment strategic issues and business development. We see that you have deep knowledge in community planning and experience working with detailed plans. You possess technical knowledge in these areas at a level that allows you to support the county's municipalities in their development.

It is also important that you understand how decision-making processes within public organizations work, and it is an advantage if you have experience working in a politically governed organization. Furthermore, you also have a good analytical ability and are accustomed to compiling and presenting information in a pedagogical manner. An important competency is also your experience in creating networks with relevant market actors.

The position requires good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

Employment Conditions

Start date by agreement. The project is time-limited, and this position is a temporary employment until 2028-03-31, corresponding to 100%.

There are some opportunities to partially work remotely when the business allows.
