JOB DESCRIPTION

Full-time Mentor/Career and Study Advisor

At Arlandagymnasiet's university preparatory program, we work hard to ensure that all students have the same opportunities for a good education. As a full-time mentor and career and study advisor at Arlandagymnasiet, you have a significant responsibility to follow, support, and guide students throughout their schooling. You will have extensive contact with students, guardians, representatives from the labor market, and other school staff, and you will work closely with our full-time mentors/career and study advisors and school management.

In your role, you will meet our students with high, clear, and positive expectations with a strong focus on studies. You need to be skilled in guiding and coaching young people and awakening their inner motivations. You will work with individual study planning, overall planning of credit plans, the individual choice and its organization, and preparing students for their upcoming university studies.

In your role, you will also initiate student welfare work, have parent contacts, conduct development conversations, and parent meetings. You will follow up on students' attendance/absence and plan your mentoring sessions both together with other mentor colleagues and based on what is needed for that particular class.

At Arlandagymnasiet, full-time mentors have an important task as they regularly visit the teaching in their mentor classes. This is to get a comprehensive view of knowledge development and an understanding of the needs that arise.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a qualified career and study advisor. If you have previously worked as a career and study advisor at the high school level, we consider that an advantage.

As a person, you value good relationships and actively take the initiative in social professional contexts where you create and maintain contacts. You are collaborative, attentive, and communicate constructively. You work well with others with an unpretentious focus on the common goal. You possess excellent organizational skills and work with a clear structure and planning.
