We are looking for a qualified special educator to take on the role of student health coordinator in a permanent 100% position.
Job Description
We are looking for someone who wants to work as a special educator in an adapted primary and secondary school and wants to help develop the school's student health team. In the role of special educator, you will participate in the school's student health team and work health-promoting and supportive based on needs analyses. The main task is to systematically work with students in need of support (organizational level, group level, individual level) and to work with quality assurance of documentation processes such as USS (investigation for special support), action programs, and pedagogical assessments, among others. You are expected to take an active role in analyses related to mapping materials and collaborate with responsible educators to design measures to help all students reach the highest level possible. The position also includes mentoring teaching staff and student assistants regarding compensatory aids and study techniques, conducting classroom observations, and preparing materials for applications such as operational support. At the school, we rely on the PBS approach to create a safe and inclusive environment for our students.
As a student health coordinator, you are responsible for coordinating the school's student health initiatives and ensuring the school's preventive, health-promoting, and remedial efforts in dialogue with other professionals within local student health. You will lead student health meetings and prepare agendas in the digital system ProRenata.
Qualifications
You have a degree as a special educator. You have experience working with various student groups/functional variations. You have a good understanding of adaptations, special support, and the school's governing documents. You have good communication skills, are clear, humble, and direct in communication, and can express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish. You easily build good relationships and collaborate with students, guardians, colleagues, the school's student health team, and school management. You are flexible and have a good ability to motivate others, both students and staff (teachers and resource assistants). You have a professional and positive attitude and can see challenges as opportunities.
It is an advantage if you have documented experience working with Positive Behavior Support (PBS) and LGRA-22 or teaching in an adapted school.
Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
About the Workplace
A School with Great Opportunities
Ängholm School is part of the Gribbylund principal area along with Myräng School (primary school F-5) and Myräng School (adapted school grades 1-6). Some collaboration between the schools will occur to learn from each other and develop towards a modern school for all.
The school serves students in adapted primary school grades 7-9 and adapted secondary school. There are also courses available after secondary school at Komvux as adapted education. The school offers leisure activities through KTT (short-term supervision) that can be applied for via LSS in the same facilities and with the same educators. Currently, there are 76 students at the school.
Each school year, all students and teachers work on a music and theater performance based on the year's theme together with the school's music and theater teachers in collaboration with Ung Kultur. The work on the musical during the school year culminates in several smaller performances.
