Summer Temporary Positions in Housing and Support

This is an opportunity for you who want to develop within your profession and gain valuable experience in social work. The job also offers a chance to work closely with clients and be part of a team that makes a difference every day!

We are now looking for temporary and summer substitutes for day/evening shifts as well as awake night shifts. Both day/evening and night services in this recruitment involve work approximately every other weekend.

Job Responsibilities

The housing and support unit provides housing and housing solutions for individuals experiencing homelessness and needing support in their situation. Our primary goal is to offer a safe place to live, both in the short and long term.

We work with harm reduction and motivation, based on a low-arousal approach. Trusting relationships are central to providing our target group with a context and a daily structure that helps clients achieve positive change.

In this role, you will support, motivate, and help create a safe living environment and good relationships with the residents. To succeed in this, a non-judgmental attitude and a good ability to switch between different strategies and approaches depending on the situation are required.

Another important part of our work is collaborating with other actors around our target group, such as police, healthcare, social emergency services, and other units within social services. Job responsibilities also include documentation, record-keeping, and the establishment of implementation plans.

The work also includes some practical tasks such as cleaning living rooms upon move-out, serving food and refreshments, and assisting residents with other practical matters such as cleaning and laundry when needed.

Qualifications

For these positions, the following is required:

  • Started or completed education as a social worker, social pedagogue, treatment pedagogue, or other relevant education deemed suitable by the employer for the assignment
  • Relevant work experience in social work where meeting people has been an important part
  • Very good Swedish and English in both speech and writing

Meritorious:

  • Ongoing or completed internship as part of your education

  • Experience working with individuals with substance abuse issues
  • Experience working based on a low-arousal approach
  • Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness
  • Education and experience in MI and/or solution-focused approaches
  • Experience working with documentation in similar activities
  • Experience working from a harm reduction perspective
  • Experience collaborating with other actors around our target group, such as healthcare and psychiatry, police, disability support administration, and municipal authorities that decide on housing

Some of the positions and activities require you to have good driving skills and a B driver's license, manual and/or automatic. You will therefore need to state this in your application.

As a person, we are looking for someone who:

  • Is secure, stable, and has high integrity
  • Has a good ability to focus on your part of the work and prioritize the most important tasks at the moment
  • Is attentive, accommodating, and low-arousal in your approach and has an interest in helping others
  • Has good collaboration skills and is responsive to your colleagues
  • Has a good ability to build trusting relationships and finds it easy to make new contacts
  • Has good self-awareness and can distinguish between the personal and the professional
