Stockholm – our capital city with millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions

We work for everyone living here today and in the future. Now we are looking for you who want to think big, new, and differently with us – for the people of Stockholm.

Stockholm is flourishing as the country's leading growth region. We work for a labor market where everyone can find their place – where employers find the right skills and where people get an opportunity to enter or return to working life. We support the journey of Stockholmers towards work or studies through labor market initiatives and adult education.

Welcome to us

Komvux Rosenlund is a school unit with about 350 students and 40 employees.

Here we teach adults with intellectual disabilities (ID), acquired brain injuries, visual impairments/blindness, mental health issues, language disorders, and other adults who need a calmer study pace in smaller groups. In addition, we also conduct vocational training in combination with Swedish for immigrants (SFI). Our teaching methods are based on the students' needs, supported by current research and proven experience.

We are looking for someone who wants to work in an innovative project aimed at contributing to the supply of skills primarily within school kitchens and cafeterias. Project participants are young adults with mild ID who learn to become kitchen assistants through workplace-based learning.

As a teacher with experience from working in kitchens and restaurants, you are one of the key persons in the project's implementation. You are one of three in a team that will support and guide the project's participants towards a certified education as kitchen assistants.

Your workplace will largely be where your students are placed, within large kitchens and school cafeterias in the city of Stockholm.

We offer

A workplace with an active health initiative, wellness allowance with access to offers in a wellness portal, and vacation exchange. Participation in an exciting project with opportunities for both professional development and contributing to the project's development work.

Your role

Lärkedjan is a project funded by the Social Investment Fund in the city of Stockholm. In the project, we will develop a model for workplace-based learning for young adults with mild ID, where grading mainly occurs through validation. The goal is for participants to be well-prepared for continued employment as kitchen assistants after the project period. The project is already underway with a Lärkedja focused on elderly care, and we are now expanding with a Lärkedja focused on large kitchens and workplace-based learning with validation of the vocational package Kitchen Assistant.

The project also includes study and career counselors, occupational therapists, and special educators available for additional support to the participants.

You are responsible for documenting, assessing, and validating the participants' knowledge development based on current subject plans within kitchen assistant education.

Your assignment includes:

  • Being part of a cross-professional team together with a job coach and workplace supervisor.
  • Planning and conducting orientation courses for new participants in the project together with the team.
  • Working formatively to support participants towards grades in vocational courses within the vocational package kitchen assistant.
  • Developing methods and approaches to validate knowledge.
  • Supporting the workplace in developing a learning environment.
  • Using various working methods and approaches based on conditions and needs so that all students develop in the best way possible.

Your competence and experience

Requirements

  • Licensed and qualified teacher within the restaurant and food program
  • Experience teaching adults
  • Knowledge of the conditions and needs of individuals with mild intellectual disabilities
  • Good knowledge and experience of special educational methods, approaches, and assessment
  • Very good skills in digital tools

Meritorious

  • Experience working in large kitchens and serving
  • Experience working with individuals with ID
  • Experience working with validation
  • Experience working in projects

As a person, you are engaged and see opportunities in people. You have a good ability to collaborate with other professionals and see how your different competencies contribute to the whole. You have the ability to adapt your teaching based on participants' conditions and needs, dare to think new, and challenge both yourself and the participant to achieve further in knowledge development. You are independent and enjoy shaping both work content and structures, are creative, and are driven to achieve the project's goals. The city of Stockholm works with competency-based recruitment aimed at recognizing each person's skills and thus counteracting discrimination.

At the labor market administration, we work to make it easy to develop by changing units and workplaces. This means that your employment is within the entire administration and that you may receive new assignments within other operations where your skills are most needed.
