The Ear, Nose, and Throat Clinic is a specialist operation with various functions and examinations.

Here, doctors, nurses, and nursing assistants work together! The Ear, Nose, and Throat Clinic also includes hearing care and the sleep apnea clinic, which are separate units. With us, as a nurse, you will have a varied workplace with both independent work such as telephone advice and nurse consultations, but also teamwork with both nursing assistants and doctors in a variety of special functions and examinations.

We also have our own emergency service with ambulance intake both during the day and on-call. We are an operation with great development opportunities as we have a variety of functions and examinations that we conduct each week in addition to work in telephone advice and nurse consultations. We have allergy nurses, contact nurses, surgical planners, we measure pressure/pH, we conduct dizziness tests, we assist in outpatient surgeries, and more.

We are a management team focused on staff care and competence development. We regularly conduct internal training and also invite external speakers. We offer all newly hired nurses a year of mentorship. The mentorship program includes an introductory day, follow-ups, days when your mentor works alongside you even outside of the training period to provide extra support and opportunities for learning, and training days, among other things. With us, everyone receives four weeks of individualized training.

Your Tasks

The reception and ward form a small unit that is interconnected. Our focus is teamwork across all boundaries. This means that you will need to work a certain number of weekends even in our care department. In the reception, you, as a nurse, will have an important role as the lead nurse in maintaining a good flow throughout the day, but you may also provide telephone advice, receive ambulance transports, and perform various checks and sample collections. On the days you have nurse consultations, you will independently conduct admission interviews with patients prior to surgery, change dressings, perform wound checks, and more.

There are opportunities to learn tasks and special functions such as dizziness investigations, allergy work, contact nursing, surgical planning, assisting in the removal of skin changes, and more over time. In our care department, we have ten inpatient care places, which also include maxillofacial surgery places. We have two care teams with close teamwork. Here, you will meet patients of various ages and with different care needs. The work includes regular nursing tasks as well as assisting doctors in various examinations and treatments both during rounds and on-call. During on-call hours, it includes receiving patients in need of emergency care and performing simpler procedures independently.

Your Skills/Competencies

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse. For us, it is important that you have a good attitude, strong communication skills, and are used to working both independently and in a team. You are structured, see the big picture, and are open to development. To thrive in this position, you should enjoy taking your own initiative, be solution-focused, have a positive attitude towards work, and be able to handle acute situations. It is an advantage if you have experience in the profession, but we are keen to find the right person for the position and will therefore place great emphasis on personal suitability.
