The Women's Healthcare is an operation where together with our more than 200 colleagues we offer outpatient and inpatient care in obstetrics and gynecology.

At Värmland's only maternity ward, about 2300 children are born each year, and we handle births from week 28. We strive to offer one-to-one care and to have two midwives present at births. In the spring, we will start offering water births and we use team birth boards.

The delivery unit has a close collaboration with the maternity ward, and several of our midwives rotate between the departments. Breastfeeding and support in the parental role are central to our operations, and within obstetrics, we work with zero separation of mother and child. We also collaborate with the neonatal department where co-care of mother and child is an important part.

Your Responsibilities

As a midwife in the delivery unit, you assist with births and handle both normal and complicated deliveries. You work in interdisciplinary teams, and the work also includes handling inductions and, where applicable, late abortions.

In the role of midwife with us, your task is to ensure that the pregnant and birthing woman, partner, and child are cared for in the best possible way and given safe and secure care. Your Skills and Competencies

You are a licensed midwife with authorization to work within Swedish healthcare and have experience in maternity care. You are engaged, have a good ability to collaborate in a team, and provide a good reception to both colleagues and patients. We wish for you to be flexible, unpretentious, and able to work independently in a structured manner.
