About the school

Welcome to a new pleasant workplace; we are a school that is growing and thus looking forward to having more colleagues. Here, there are over 280 students enrolled in vocational programs. You will teach a wonderful mix of students with a lot of creativity. The students are enrolled in 9 different programs, with our three largest being health care, automotive, and child and leisure. We work closely together across professions and the common core courses, which fosters significant collegial collaboration.

Praktiska Gymnasiet in Kalmar offers students a concept where theory is combined with practical exercises both inside the school and out in workplaces. Your mission

The position is a permanent employment with an 80% workload starting from 25-08-12. You will teach and guide our students in the Sales and Service and Hotel and Tourism programs, and together with other colleagues, you will be part of a work team. We see you as an important and driving force to develop both the program and the subject with students in focus and in collaboration with colleagues. In addition to vocational-specific tasks, you will, like other teachers at the school, have responsibilities such as mentoring, and together with your colleagues, you will coach students both socially and academically throughout their three years at Praktiska Gymnasiet. We primarily communicate through Schoolsoft, and we work in a Google environment by sharing digital documents, calendars, and plans.

Your profile

We are looking for someone who wants to help shape tomorrow's skilled and ambitious employees in Sales, Trade, and Tourism. We are looking for a licensed vocational teacher, but we also welcome applicants with many years of professional experience in relevant fields. We place great emphasis on personal qualities. If you lack a teaching license, you have the opportunity to apply for the position. In such cases, you and the school's principal will jointly develop a plan for how you can become licensed in the shortest possible time. The responsibilities include contact with the business community, as a large part of the students' study time consists of workplace-based learning (APL), and therefore good communication with employers is an asset.
