JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The target group within the child and youth department is children and youth aged 0-20 years and their families. The units work with preventive measures, outpatient care, and authority execution. There is also a residential care home for youth. Preventive measures and outpatient care are conducted in the form of, for example, parenting education, advice and support, network meetings (SIP, SIG), and family therapy.

The family therapists' interventions are offered to families with children and youth aged 0-20 years. Family therapy is based on a systemic perspective and the individual needs of the families. You are expected to work both in teams and individually, depending on the nature of the assignment. The work takes place in the family's home, in our facilities, or at other suitable locations. The work is often conducted with the entire family in close collaboration with other parties such as schools and child and adolescent psychiatry (BUP). In our change work, we use various evidence-based methods such as Hanna and Theo, Trappan, Repulse, MI, Marte Meo, and the Circle of Security parenting program. In the spring of 2024, we strengthened our operations in family therapy with four positions. These four individuals will be certified in the treatment method FFT, Functional Family Therapy.

The family therapists primarily work with assistance decisions granted by social workers from the child and youth group, but also with preventive non-assessed service conversations. Within family work, we have a broad competence to best match the needs of the families. Our main focus is always to create the best conditions for each family's need for support.

One of the positions we are looking for is a regular family therapist with experience working with children of all ages 0-20 years. The other position is linked to FFT, and it is an advantage if you have already completed basic training and started/finished certification. If not, you will be able to do this as part of the position. In the FFT position, you will also work with regular family therapy, which is also based on system theory.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has a strong commitment to work together with your colleagues to provide our families in Skövde with the best conditions to find new ways forward to achieve a manageable and good life in the family system.

You have a strong interest in family therapy, are confident in yourself, and have the ability to meet people in crisis and motivate them to change. You are flexible in that you have the ability to draw out alternative solutions to emerging problems. You are good at working independently, but also at collaborating, as you will work both individually and together with other family therapists.

You need to have a degree in social work or another education that the employer finds suitable. We want you to have several years of documented experience working with psychosocial change and/or treatment work aimed at children and youth and their families. The position also requires that you have the ability to express yourself well in speech and writing.

As you will be driving a service vehicle in your work, a B driver's license is required.

If you have basic psychotherapy training with a focus on systems and family (Step 1), we see it as an advantage. The same applies if you have training in and experience with FFT.
