We are looking for a singing teacher who can also teach piano for our culture school. You will meet children and young people, both individually and in groups, thereby contributing to a creative and developing leisure time. The target group for the culture school is primarily ages 7-19. However, in certain activities, there are both younger and older participants.

The teaching takes place both during the day, in the afternoons, and in the evenings. We teach in our own facilities in Tranemo and around the municipality's schools. Some weekend work may also occur during concerts and other joint activities. Singing and piano together account for 80% of the workload.

The culture school is one part of Young in Tranemo. The other is Young Leisure (open youth center activities). Together, we have the following purpose: We exist to contribute to providing children and young people in Tranemo municipality with a rich and meaningful leisure time through the culture school and open leisure activities. We work with a common inclusive and inspiring arena, where children and young people have the opportunity to choose, develop, experience, be seen, and be heard. The activities are characterized by creativity, safety, and participation.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a singing teacher (60%) with us, you will be responsible for teaching singing and singing ensemble/choir. Other ensemble activities may also occur.

The assignment also includes piano teaching (20%).

You are an important part of our work with concerts and collaborative projects, in planning and organizing, as well as inspiring and encouraging your students to participate in these. For example, we have ongoing collaborations with the Church of Sweden and with subject colleagues at the culture schools in Sjuhärad.

You will carry out outreach activities together with colleagues and students, which includes working project-oriented towards performances, other events, and open activities. You will work on recruiting new students and handle planning and administrative tasks related to your role as a singing teacher. You will collaborate with colleagues both within and outside your subject area and actively participate in both subject development and operational development of Young in Tranemo. Together with students, colleagues, and management, you will plan and implement your activities based on our operational plan. You will take responsibility for your student groups, foster good contacts with your students and their families, and actively participate in Young in Tranemo's joint activities and planning.

QUALIFICATIONS

We prefer that you have education from a music academy or equivalent that we assess as comparable and relevant. You are expected to have knowledge of and be able to teach methods such as Bel canto and Estille voice training.

You need to master different genres on the piano and, in addition to teaching this, also be able to accompany our students during various performances. You should be able to play from both sheet music and chords and be part of a teacher ensemble. It is an advantage if you play additional instruments.

It is important that you are open to different kinds of music and challenge students to encounter new things, as well as being attentive and accommodating to students' own wishes. You should easily understand and meet the needs and interests of young people in your teaching. You should be able to work independently as well as with colleagues, be flexible, engaged, and structured. We see it as a great asset if you also make music outside of work.

Great importance is placed on personal suitability.

A driver's license (B) and access to a car are needed as the activities are located in different parts of the municipality.

Good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form
