The Operation in Trelleborg is a well-equipped unit with seven operating rooms and two treatment rooms for planned surgical activities, including postoperative care and sterilization unit. Most surgeries are performed as day surgery, but some of our patients are in inpatient care.

Our areas of expertise are orthopedics and ear, nose, and throat care. We perform joint replacements, knee, shoulder, foot surgery, as well as ear, nose, and throat surgeries on both children and adults. The operation is in a development phase where we are further investing in efficiency, good workflows, teamwork, and quick decision-making.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In your role as a nursing assistant at the Operation in Trelleborg, you are an important part of the surgical team and for the patient. Together with the operating nurse, you are responsible for preparing the room and all technical equipment before surgery. You assist in setting up and provide the team with instruments and materials during the operation. After surgery, you ensure that instruments and items are prepared for cleaning and that the room is set up for the next patient. Your tasks also include planning and preparing for the next day. Working in our own sterilization center may occur.

We offer you an individually tailored introduction program based on your previous experiences. Working hours are scheduled Monday to Friday, with some evening shifts.

QUALIFICATIONS

We welcome you who are a trained nursing assistant with a focus on emergency care/health care according to the previous program structure or are a trained nursing assistant within the new program structure who has studied all specializations. Furthermore, you have good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing, and we also see that you have good knowledge of the English language. Experience from surgical operations and an interest in medical technology is advantageous.

When it comes to you as a person, you are calm, attentive, and responsible with a desire and ability to help others. Additionally, you enjoy working in a team and have an interest in technical equipment within healthcare. Since we work in teams, it is important that you have good collaboration skills. OTHER

As of July 1, 2023, the title of nursing assistant became a protected professional title. This means that you will need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title nursing assistant within care and nursing. If you currently have a permanent position as a nursing assistant and are offered a new position, you can retain your title as a nursing assistant until June 30, 2033. At any interview/employment, you need to be able to present proof of the protected professional title from the National Board of Health and Welfare or a certificate that you were permanently employed on July 1, 2023. If you do not currently have a professional certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare or are covered by the transitional provisions, it means that the title in your employment contract will be care assistant and not nursing assistant.
