The Role of a High School Teacher

We are now seeking a teacher for Stora Segerstad Agricultural Center! We are looking for an experienced, certified teacher with qualifications in Social Studies, Religious Studies, and History for teaching at the high school level.

In addition to your subject expertise, you want to contribute with engagement and be part of a pleasant community at our school. The position as a teacher also includes being a mentor for a group of students. It is advantageous if you have an interest in the green industries that the students at Stora Segerstad Agricultural Center are training in. You will be part of a team with the school's other teachers in common subjects. The position is permanent with a full-time commitment of 100% and start date by agreement.

Your Future Workplace

Stora Segerstad is a historic agricultural school with Region Jönköping County as the main authority. Here, we educate with a focus on forestry, agriculture, animal care for dogs, and adapted high school with the program Forest, Land, and Animals. In addition to high school education, several adult and contract training programs are conducted in the field of green industries, and there are approximately 230 students at the school and a staff of about 80 people. Your Profile

As a teacher at Stora Segerstad Agricultural Center, you are expected to be highly involved in the school's systematic quality work and the students' development towards the educational goals, be creative in your pedagogical planning, and adapt the implementation of your teaching to the situation. You want to create a desire for learning among students and have the ability to see students as individuals with different needs and motivations. You are confident in your teaching role with a desire to build good relationships with both colleagues, students, and students' guardians.

With strong pedagogical insight, you understand how people absorb knowledge and the various conditions that affect learning. You adapt your way of conveying information based on the recipient's needs. You have the ability to see the whole picture and take into account the larger perspective. While being aware of your own role, you act and make decisions with the best interests of the entire operation in mind.

You are proactive, independently drive activities, and ensure they lead to concrete results. For the role, good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form, computer skills, and a B driver's license are required. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
