About your role as a personal assistant with me

I am a woman over 60 living in an apartment centrally located in Malmö. I use an electric wheelchair due to a muscle disease and need help in daily living with ADL and all household chores such as laundry, cleaning, etc. There are some things I can do myself, but it varies depending on my condition - you will help with the rest.

It is important that you are attentive, responsible, and unpretentious, that you want to see and understand my needs. You work proactively, and we help each other keep an overview of daily life. Communication is key, and a positive attitude and humor are also highly valued.

I have a dog, and dog care is a big part of my daily life; it is important that you are interested and willing to learn. We take courses, train, and go for long dog walks. An extra plus is if you have previous experience with dogs, but otherwise, I will teach you.

You should have a driver's license and driving experience. I have a car, a regular bicycle, and a cargo bike that you should be able to handle.

Where is the assistance performed?

The assistance is performed where I am, and your shift starts and ends where I am - at home or out in the city.

Requirements

• Class B driver's license
• Ability to ride a bike
• Fluent in Swedish, both spoken and written
• As the workplace has a dog, we require that you are not allergic to dogs
• Experience working as a personal assistant

Meritorious

We prefer that you have at least 2 years of experience as a personal assistant. Experience with dogs since there is an assistance dog. Also, experience working with a ventilator and cough machine.

As a personal assistant, you represent Hela Sveriges Assistans.

In the role of personal assistant, you will complete an online training course on what it is like to work as a personal assistant.

You will work together with the client and your colleagues to ensure good quality and follow the company's values and policies.

As a personal assistant, you are responsible for accessing information sent out by the head office and, if necessary, seeking information available on the website. For other questions, you turn to your supervisor or the head office.

• be updated on the implementation plan that may be given verbally by the client or may be written down on-site or in HSA time.
• take part in the job descriptions and routines available on-site and follow these.
• document and read documentation according to the routine in the assignment.

We train our employees to ensure quality in personal assistance. All our new hires complete an online introductory training for personal assistants before their first working day or no later than one month after starting employment.
