Väskolan is a F-9 school that offers after-school activities for students in grades F-6. Approximately 500 students attend the school. We are in an expansive phase where development and engagement are in focus.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

You will teach art at our middle and high school.

As a teacher with us, you stimulate students to learn and take responsibility. With commitment and enthusiasm, you create a safe learning environment based on mutual respect and cooperation, through good leadership both inside and outside the classroom.

The teaching is designed based on the curriculum goals where planning, preparation, implementation, and evaluation are important cornerstones. You have positive and high expectations of the students and adapt the teaching according to all students' levels, focusing on the best interests of the student.

Through dialogue, you create good relationships characterized by mutual respect and a trusting approach. In your role, you keep yourself updated on events in the world and the everyday lives of young people. Alternative teaching tools and documentation are a natural part of your work. In a systematic way, you reflect on the practical work and together with colleagues drive development work in the workgroup/school. You also have a shared responsibility for both your own and the group's planning and further development.

If you are new as a teacher, you will be supported by a mentor for the best guidance in your work, and if you are an unqualified teacher, you can conduct teaching but not be responsible for it. The responsibility for grading lies with a qualified teacher.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are primarily looking for someone with a teaching license qualified to teach grades 4-9 in the subject of art and another subject in elementary school, preferably mathematics and/or science. Secondly, we are looking for someone with subject knowledge at the university level in the above-mentioned subject. It is advantageous if you have pedagogical training at the university level.

We want you to have previously worked as a teacher in elementary school and have experience in conducting teaching as well as working with children/young people aged 10-16 years. You also need to have a good ability to teach children in need of special support and the ability to help students manage conflicts that arise.

You have the ability to adapt teaching based on each student's conditions, and your lessons are characterized by clear expectations, a conducive working atmosphere, and a desire to learn. You have commitment, enthusiasm, and a genuine interest in the school world and how it is affected by the outside world.

A key success factor is your ability to create trusting relationships both inside and outside the school. Furthermore, you are a confident pedagogical leader with the ability to critically analyze your own and the work group's methods for continuous development.

Of course, you use digital technology in teaching and as a tool for information, planning, communication, and reporting. You organize and structure your work based on specified goals.

As a person, you are communicative, attentive, and well acquainted with and live up to the ethical principles for teachers, as well as having the ability to analyze and document students' abilities and knowledge.

In order for us to consider your application, you must attach your diploma and teaching license. If there are no qualified licensed teachers, you who are unqualified can be employed temporarily according to the Education Act. When we want to offer you the position, you must present an extract from the police register for us to be able to employ you, according to the provisions in Chapter 2, Sections 31-33 of the Education Act.
