The Culture School in Sjöbo municipality is part of the family administration, culture and leisure, along with children's and youth culture in preschool and school, libraries, and public culture in the municipality. The unit also includes Leisure for youth. We want to create a place where children and young people are given the opportunity to grow both as individuals and as a group through collaboration, focus on various creative expressions, participation, and joy of creation! The Culture School meets 400 students weekly in various music subjects, theater, puppet theater, dance, and visual arts. In addition to the regular subject courses, we run projects and holiday activities. There are 10 employees at the Culture School.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Now it is time for our flute teacher to retire, and we are looking for someone who wants to take over the wonderful activities that have already been established and at the same time develop it further into the future!

We are looking for someone who:

• Has the competence to teach flute and recorder, in groups, ensembles, and individually
• Has a broad musical and/or cultural competence.
• Can inspire, motivate, and engage both your students and other children and young people you meet.
• Has the ability to meet each young person at their own level and help them develop further.
• Believes that participation is a given, creating conditions for each student's creative expression and helping them grow!
• Enjoys collaborating and working on projects, preferably interdisciplinary.
• Has good digital competence.
• Has thoughts and ideas on how we can together create the Culture School of the future.

Please share if you have a broad cultural competence and what it entails, it can be anything from playing other instruments to mastering other cultural expressions.

You will plan and conduct teaching for children and young people aged 6-19 in Sjöbo, both individually and in groups, and be involved in organizing concerts and performances. Teaching takes place both in the Culture School's premises in Sjöbo town and in the surrounding villages. In addition to the above, you will participate in projects and conduct holiday activities together with your colleagues. Planning and administrative tasks are included. The position is a holiday position.

QUALIFICATIONS

A teaching degree from a music academy or other education deemed equivalent by the employer. A driver's license and access to a personal vehicle are required. Experience working interdisciplinary is considered a plus, as well as having a broad competence in music or other art forms. We place great importance on good collaboration skills, pedagogical competence, and the ability to see the whole picture.
