Malmö Magistratsgymnasium is seeking a secure and committed special educator with a strong dedication to students' learning, health, and development. The school is small and will open in the autumn term of 2025.

Job Responsibilities

The special educator's mission is to assist the school with special educational expertise at all organizational levels and to contribute to school development. The mission includes working for a well-functioning student health service to support students' development towards the educational goals. The main tasks are to:

• Map students' and groups' needs
• Analyze the school's work in relation to students' learning
• Plan, implement, and evaluate interventions
• Coordinate the work with transitions for students who start and leave the school
• Actively participate in educational research and use and disseminate research findings and methods to strengthen students' learning
• Guide and train educational staff and student assistants
• Participate in the school's student health team
• Participate in the school's systematic quality work
• Participate in the cross-administrative network for special educational improvement work
• Document in Prorenata

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Degree in preschool education, teaching, or leisure pedagogy, as well as further education to become a special educator
• Experience working with children and adolescents with disabilities
• Familiarity with external contacts and collaboration with staff, children, students, guardians, habilitation, child and adolescent psychiatry, and social services
• Very good digital competence and experience using digital tools for communication, pedagogy, and administration
• Good insight into the school's goals and governing documents
• Proficient in Swedish and English, both spoken and written

Desirable:

• Experience working within high school introductory programs or special education groups in primary school (grades 7-9)

The work requires that you are secure in your professional role, can work independently, are proactive, and have a good ability to see opportunities in different situations. As a person, you have a good demeanor and a strong ability to plan and prioritize your work. You have good collaboration skills and an interest in working together in teams with various professional categories. Your approach is relational, salutogenic, and focused on working health-promoting and preventive. You are flexible, attentive, and have an easy time building trust and good relationships with students, guardians, colleagues, and external partners.

About the workplace

Malmö Magistratsgymnasium is a smaller school unit in central Malmö for students studying individual alternatives (IMA) or vocational introductions (IMY). A few places will also be available for students from other high schools who temporarily need a different placement. At Malmö Magistratsgymnasium, the individual student is at the center, and great importance is placed on contributing to future belief, independence, and motivation.
