We are looking for a special education teacher in mathematics who is interested in a new assignment with us at Munkhätteskolan! At Munkhätteskolan, all mathematics teaching is conducted according to the Singapore model. At Munkhätteskolan, the goal achievement in mathematics is the entire school's responsibility to create Every student's best school. Through various forums, you are responsible for the important work of creating accessible learning environments for all students at the school, both at group and individual levels, and this position is primarily aimed at grades 4-6, although there may be interventions and teaching for both lower and upper secondary levels based on goal achievement. You support teachers in their work to identify students' needs and organize mathematics instruction that meets all students' needs.

Qualifications

You who are applying have a special education degree in mathematics. It is a requirement that you have previous experience working as a primary school teacher. If you have prior experience as a special education teacher, it is an advantage. You need to have good insight and knowledge of the school's governing documents and be able to apply them in your daily work. You have good didactic and pedagogical skills and can therefore organize the work towards the student/students in mathematics to create a conducive learning environment throughout the day. Based on evidence-based research, we see that you can develop your work, and we want you to be familiar with and have knowledge of working with relevant digital tools. Of course, you have a professional approach and work towards good relationships with our students, their guardians, and all your colleagues at the school.

About the Workplace

Munkhätteskolan is a K-9 school with approximately 700 students, of which 30 are enrolled in our adapted special school with a focus on subject areas. Our school has been newly renovated for a few years, which provides good conditions and great accessibility in the physical learning environment. The school employs 150 fantastic staff members with broad expertise. We strive for good quality and equitable teaching in our classrooms. The teaching is based on a common lesson structure and common working models. We actively work with Writing to Read (ASL) and Reciprocal Teaching (RU) in Swedish, as well as the Singapore model in mathematics. We systematically follow up and use data to prioritize and direct resources so that they effectively contribute to students' progression and results. The school's lead teachers have a clearly defined role focused on identified areas of development in the systematic quality work. The lead teachers support colleagues and are responsible for driving collegial learning together with school management. The school's student health team primarily works preventively and health-promoting to support teachers and other school staff in creating environments that promote learning, development, and health. The special educator works closely with the work teams and serves as support in the work with leadership, stimulation, and support measures. The student health team has a special responsibility to remove barriers to each individual student's learning and development.
