Internship in Financial Stability

Do you have an interest in financial stability issues and want to learn more about the work to reduce the risk of serious disruptions in the financial system? As an intern in the Financial Stability department, you will gain experience and understanding of how a Swedish authority prepares to handle a financial crisis.

Your Internship

We offer an internship in the Financial Stability department, which consists of four units that work in various ways to fulfill the Swedish National Debt Office's mission in financial crisis management as well as for the deposit guarantee and investor protection. Within the framework of financial crisis management, the work includes addressing economic and legal issues so that the National Debt Office can carry out the so-called resolution of a bank or a central counterparty in the event of a crisis. The preparatory work includes planning how crisis management will be conducted and financed, as well as consulting with Swedish and international authorities in that work.

As an intern, you will participate in the department's crisis preparedness work. There are many opportunities, and you will have the chance to take responsibility for a longer project within one of the department's areas of work, and you will assist with shorter analyses and data collection. The unit you are assigned to will be based on the department's needs as well as your previous experiences and interests.

Your Background and Skills

You are a student at a university/college in economics, business administration, financial economics, or law and are in the final stages of your education. The internship is part of your education and is relevant to your field of study. We are looking for someone who is structured, meticulous, social, collaborative, and has strong analytical skills. You need to be able to communicate well in both Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing.

Good to Know

The internship typically lasts for 20 weeks starting in the autumn semester of 2025. The internship is usually full-time during office hours. No financial compensation is provided during the internship. A security clearance with a background check may be conducted before a decision on the internship can be made.

If you are one of the final candidates, you can expect to be contacted after the application period has ended and to be available for an interview shortly thereafter.

Welcome to apply! Please submit your CV, a transcript from LADOK with course names, credits, and grades. Also, send a cover letter. In the letter, describe the purpose of the internship and why you want to do it with us at the National Debt Office.
