Coordinating Support Educator for Short-Term Activities in Lomma Municipality

We are now looking for a new coordinating support educator for our short-term activities according to LSS for children and young people in Lomma Municipality. Our current support educator is moving on within the department for functional support, and therefore we are now looking for a new dedicated coordinating support educator who is passionate about LSS and the target group of children and young people. You will belong to the support and service area, which is part of the department for functional support consisting of, apart from the position in question, a unit manager and a support educator for daily activities. We have close cooperation both within support and service and with other LSS activities. In the entire department, there are 6 coordinating support educators, and together we drive development forward in the pedagogical work together with other staff and unit managers.

At our short-term activity, called Skolskeppet, children and young people come to us for short-term supervision and short-term stay. The operation currently consists of 6 support assistants and one coordinating support educator, and there is great engagement and a lot of joy at work! The goal of the operation is to provide children and young people with a meaningful leisure time, an opportunity for a change of environment/recreation/respite, and to meet other children and young people. It is important that we can provide children and young people with a creative, safe, and inviting environment that they want to come to either after school or in the evenings and weekends as well as during breaks.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a coordinating support educator, you have an extended mandate to lead and distribute the operational work at each unit. Together with colleagues, you ensure the work with implementation plans and social documentation in the operation. As a coordinating support educator, you are responsible for increasing the pedagogical approach that supports the individual's participation, development, and independence. You are also a great resource for seeking and gathering as well as spreading new knowledge about pedagogical methods in the operation. The profession requires that you, in a humble manner with a user focus, can create a good structure and context for our children and young people and collaborate with their network, other staff, and other partners.

As a coordinating support educator, you have a leadership role, which means that you, on behalf of the unit manager, guide, communicate, and clarify the pedagogical and administrative work that occurs based on given goals and directives. You will have assignments for personnel and operational planning.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with vocational training in the field corresponding to 200 YH points or a university education with at least 60 points specializing in the area of disabilities.

You are well-versed in LSS legislation and the National Board of Health and Welfare's guidelines regarding the execution of the assignment. You have experience working with individuals with various types of disabilities. It is an advantage if you have previously worked in a short-term activity or in a school. Experience in scheduling, Lifecare, Agresso, Vikariebanken, or Visma is also an advantage.

Experience with TAKK, alternative and augmentative communication is an advantage, as well as knowledge of children's rights. We expect you to have good knowledge of social documentation and the governing legislation.
