JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

In Gothenburg City, you will find the country's largest operation with adapted upper secondary school. We are now looking for student assistants for centrally located Landala AG, an adapted upper secondary school with students studying in an individual program. Adapted upper secondary school is its own school form with its own curricula. We work based on each student's individual development, needs, and conditions. The students are at different developmental levels and have intellectual disabilities, sometimes with various additional disabilities such as autism, mobility impairments, and visual impairments.

The students need support in most situations throughout the day, and your role as a student assistant with us means creating clarity, structure, and security throughout the school day. It is important to be next to the student as a safe support, but equally important for the students' learning and transition to adulthood is your ability to take a step back and work towards making the student as independent as possible. You will work with the students in various situations, both individually and in groups. For the school to succeed in its educational mission, you must have the ability to adapt your working methods to the students' conditions and daily form, as well as be able to see and utilize their differences. Having the student at the center is a self-evident guiding principle for the operation.

QUALIFICATIONS

Requirement of at least one year of experience working with youth or children in adapted schools or equivalent relevant experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or multiple disabilities.

Requirement of experience working through low-arousal responses, with clarifying pedagogy and AAC. It is an advantage if you also have relevant basic education, such as a student assistant, nursing assistant, support assistant, or similar.

You have good physical fitness and mobility, the ability to handle heavy lifting, and participate in the students' activities. You have good knowledge of the Swedish language, especially oral communication. The work requires good competence in common digital tools.

As a person, you are stable and secure, professional in your role. You have a very good ability to collaborate and create good relationships. You are flexible and attentive to the students' individual conditions.
