Description

We are looking for someone with high competence in child and adolescent psychology and solid experience working with students in need of special support.

You should be confident in working with children who need support due to mental health issues, and you should always strive to ensure that each student has the best and most developing day possible with a focus on learning. We offer you a seasonal position in an environment characterized by development and very good competence. At Björndal School, you will be part of a team of teachers and leisure staff. For us, it is important that everything we do is focused on the best interests of the students - this applies to both knowledge development and social development. We allocate resources according to the students' needs, and there is significant collaboration between the school and the leisure center to provide students with good conditions for their learning.

Responsibilities

The role involves supporting students throughout the day and collaborating with teachers and leisure staff to create a socially functioning learning environment and adapt the day according to special needs and abilities. Through your extensive knowledge of child and adolescent development, you contribute support and solutions regarding clarifications and structure in the physical and psychosocial environment. You will have a particular responsibility for practically preparing these solutions, for example, in work orders, schedules, and communication tools, which requires the requested competence. You need to have pedagogical knowledge and clear leadership. Your work will be directed towards students at both individual and group levels. You will be involved in planning, implementing, documenting, and following up on the educational activities together with the work team, where the teacher has the ultimate responsibility for the teaching. You work well in a team but can also take responsibility on your own and should be a good adult role model in everything you do. Good physical fitness and the ability to create calm and security are required as you will be working with students who need it.

Qualifications

The following qualifications are required for this position:

• education as a student support assistant or other education that the employer deems equivalent.
• knowledge of child and adolescent psychology and the development and health of children and adolescents
• knowledge of mental health issues, intellectual disabilities, ADHD, autism, language disorders, concentration and focus, as well as gifted students
• knowledge of low-arousal approaches and clarifying pedagogy in both theory and practice.
• knowledge of leadership and pedagogy focused on children and youth
• being task-oriented, responsible, and able to work well in a team as well as independently.
• ability to provide good references from previous work with students in need of special support, demonstrating your ability to apply your knowledge in practice.

Experience working in schools is an advantage. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
