The Department of Journalism, Media and Communication is part of the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Gothenburg. Teaching in journalism is conducted at both undergraduate and advanced levels. The majority of these students are found in the Bachelor's program in journalism, which comprises 180 higher education credits. The department conducts research in journalism within the framework of several profile areas.

The Department of Journalism, Media and Communication is now seeking a temporary University Lecturer in journalism with a focus on digital publishing.

Employment type: Temporary employment, until at most 2026-01-31

Scope: 30-50%

Location: Department of Journalism, Media and Communication, Gothenburg

Subject description: Digital publishing

Job duties: The duties mainly consist of teaching, supervision, and examination in journalism at both undergraduate and advanced levels. Teaching in the department's other programs may occur. The duties include teaching digital publishing, editorial work, and the narrative forms of journalism in digital channels, as well as managing and developing the education's digital platforms and channels. This requires a good technical understanding and professional experience in journalistic writing, digital channels, and publishing tools, as well as a good knowledge of legal and journalistic issues.

The position includes course responsibility, lectures, exercises, seminars, examination components with preparation and follow-up, as well as supervision. You are expected to contribute to the department's internal work and collaborate with the surrounding community.
