Art Teacher Needed at the Culture School in Stenungsund Municipality

Stenungsund Municipality is a growing coastal municipality with approximately 27,800 inhabitants. The municipality's organization consists of a consolidated administration with four sectors. The unit is part of the Education Sector, under the Culture and Leisure operations. Here, courses for children in visual arts, musical instruments, singing, and theater are conducted – an activity that stimulates cultural life and children's education in aesthetic subjects.

We are looking for an art teacher for the Culture School in Stenungsund Municipality for a temporary position of 20% or 40%.

The temporary position is a seasonal job that follows the school year for primary education.

Teaching takes place in room RUM1 at the Culture House Fregatten. The room is shared with other activities. Therefore, extra demands are placed on maintaining order. However, there is plenty of shared material and ample space to store your own teaching materials in a lockable area.

The students are divided into groups from grade 1 to 9 and high school, with most being in the younger and middle age groups. You will have three lessons per day, each lasting 60 minutes. The work schedule is from 11:30 AM to 7:00 PM, Tuesday and Wednesday, or only one of the days. If you work as a teacher during the day in a school and want to schedule the Culture School's teaching on the same day in the afternoon, it is possible to start the schedule later, but no later than 2:00 PM.

We offer a stimulating work environment with great freedom. The Culture School does not have a predetermined curriculum and no grades. The Culture School is not mandatory; all students have chosen art as a leisure activity. Additionally, you will have very nice colleagues!

Responsibilities

• Teaching in visual arts.
• Administration with the admission of your own students and registration of student attendance.
• Ongoing contact with your own students and their guardians.
• Based on the conditions of employment, support students in becoming part of the cultural life outside of lessons, for example through student exhibitions or vernissages.

Qualifications

• You are a qualified art teacher and/or a practicing visual artist.
• You are a structured person who always completes assigned tasks on time.
• You can express yourself well in both speech and writing.
• You have some computer skills and can send emails and use Excel at a basic level with some guidance.

Teacher certification as an art teacher is an advantage. A criminal record extract is mandatory, which must be brought to the job interview. Great emphasis will be placed on your ability to spark and nurture interest in art among students, as well as your pedagogical ability to provide good conditions for learning.
