About the Job

Do you want to be one of our important special educators within the School Health Team in Lidköping municipality? We are now looking for a special educator for our unit.

The conditions will be good, with the focus of the work lying in preventive and health-promoting efforts in close dialogue with the principal and other colleagues in the student health team.

Job Responsibilities

The special educator works in the student health team together with the school counselor, school nurse, and school psychologist and operates at the school unit in close collaboration with the principal and educators. Your primary task will be to work health-promoting and preventive. As a special educator, you will work together with the principal, EHT, and educators to promote a good educational learning environment with the goal that all students should feel good and develop based on their conditions and reach as far as possible. We see the importance of starting from the students' interests, motivation, and desire to learn together.

The work as a special educator is multifaceted and includes, among other things, providing your expertise in school development issues, collaborating with educators and the principal in finding successful methods that benefit students' learning, mentoring staff, and contributing to educational assessments. As a special educator, you add the special educational perspective when analyzing the mandatory assessment materials and assessment supports as well as the results of national tests. The special educator can contribute their expertise in planning the continued pedagogical work with guidance and stimulation as well as extra adaptations. You will also participate in transitions within/between units and activities.

In addition to working at the school unit, you will belong to a professional group with the municipality's special educators. In this group, you collaborate with special educators from preschool and primary school. This includes working on issues related to your own profession and conducting quality and development work.

All our professions within EHT have established main assignments that are anchored both within the profession, the principal group, and our trade unions. This creates clear expectations for the roles in the operations and how the profession is utilized.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who has a teaching degree and is a trained special educator. You base your work on a salutogenic perspective and are well anchored in current governing documents and also well-informed about the school's view of knowledge and values. You focus on a good accessible learning environment and on developing the operations at the organizational and group level to promote each student's development and learning. Together with the educators, you see opportunities to develop teaching.

You have a well-functioning collaboration with students, guardians, and educators, and you contribute to a good culture of collaboration. We value that you are a person with great commitment and interest in making a difference for our children and students.

Driver's license and access to a personal vehicle are required.
