JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a senior project manager, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and leading the implementation of larger projects from start to finish.

The project manager ensures that the projects meet the goals and are delivered within set time frames and budgets with the right quality.

Throughout the project, you will play a central role in managing stakeholders, risks, and changes.

Your tasks include strategic planning, procurement, project design, financial follow-ups, reconciliations, etc.

You will drive the projects forward through a clear project plan within given frameworks. The senior project manager will work together with internal and external actors, which means many points of contact and project members. It will sometimes be challenging with many decisions to be made.

The role is an important function in the city's development, and you will contribute to a growing Karlskoga.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a relevant university degree, such as a civil engineer or a bachelor of engineering in construction, HVAC, electrical, or community planning, or equivalent qualifications deemed comparable by the employer.

Documented multi-year experience in leading similar projects to ensure an effective and successful implementation process and/or proven multi-year experience in leading large and complex real estate projects within new construction, renovation, or commercial properties can compensate for the educational requirement.

To be our star, you also need:

• good knowledge of procurement and contract law, including AB04, ABT06, and LOU
• financial understanding of budgeting, cost control, and business analysis
• experience negotiating with and managing multiple stakeholders
• proficiency in relevant IT systems, good computer skills
• to hold a valid B driver's license

A financial or legal education with a focus on real estate may be relevant in some cases.

Certification training that may be advantageous includes leadership training, project management training, BAS-P/BAS-U, and knowledge of environmental and sustainability certifications.

You need to be structured to plan, execute, follow up, and lead projects. You also need to be stable and confident in your leadership and be willing to stand by decisions made when many stakeholders are involved. Therefore, it is important that you can create good relationships and communicate well so that everyone pulls in the same direction. Strong commitment and drive are prerequisites; seeing opportunities and solutions both independently and together is important.
