School Coordinator for Youth Unit

Are you ready for the next challenge, to build a new role within a project? Do you want to be part of a team working for placed youth where your role is to ensure a safe and functioning school experience for the youth? At the Youth Unit, we work to create the best conditions for youth in need of support. As a school coordinator, you will play a key role in ensuring that the school experience for youth functions throughout their placement period.

In the Youth Unit, social workers work with the target group aged 13-20 years with norm-breaking behavior. The assignment involves investigation and follow-up of interventions, according to SoL and LVU.

Responsibilities

As a school coordinator, you are responsible for facilitating school transfers for youth placed outside their homes. You will be in contact with both the sending and receiving schools to ensure a smooth transition and ensure that the school experience is as cohesive as possible. In your role, you act as a bridge between the school and social services, creating comprehensive solutions for youth education. You collaborate closely with social workers, schools, KAA (Municipal Activity Responsibility), and service providers, and also have direct client contact in the form of follow-up meetings and other conversations deemed necessary.

The assignment as a School Coordinator is part of an ESF-funded project, Sustainable Transitions. You will also be involved in this context with regular check-ins and reporting.

The work requires that you have good knowledge of school regulations and support measures as well as an understanding of the challenges that placed youth may face in their schooling. Through your coordination and engagement, you ensure that each youth receives the right support to succeed.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a university degree in a relevant field related to education or social services, such as a teacher, special educator, study and career counselor, behavioral scientist, or social worker. We see that you have several years of experience primarily in education, but experience in social services is also an advantage. You have good knowledge of children with psychosocial difficulties and neuropsychiatric disabilities.

For the position, it is also important that you have experience working with placed children and good knowledge of the regulations regarding placements according to SoL and LVU. We would like you to have worked with adapting schooling for children and youth and have experience collaborating with student health teams and social services. Experience in project work is also an advantage.

You need to have excellent knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, as well as good computer skills. A driving license and experience driving a manual transmission vehicle is an advantage.
