Job Responsibilities

We are now looking for a special education teacher who wants to complement our faculty with their expertise. If you specialize in mathematics learning, you might be our new colleague!

The role includes leading and developing our work regarding teaching for students in grades 7-9, both in terms of guidance and stimulation, support in finding effective extra adaptations, and targeted special support. This includes being an executor of special support and, in collaboration with special educators, being responsible for mapping and analyzing knowledge results in the systematic quality work to then use your expertise, research-based and proven experience to develop support for our students and guide/mentor teacher colleagues.

As a special education teacher at Oxievångsskolan, you will conduct work that puts the student's learning at the center. We want to see that you are an engaged teacher who can inspire and motivate students in their knowledge development, primarily in mathematics. You should start from the students' perspective when you, together with other staff and management, organize, drive, and develop the school. Your approach to the assignment should be solution-oriented, and you should have the student in focus.

As a qualified special education teacher with us, you will help create a school where all students have the opportunity to achieve their goals and where learning is perceived as meaningful, stimulating, enjoyable, and safe. At Oxievångsskolan, you will work in a team with three special educators and a teacher in training to become a special education teacher. Additionally, there are further social resources in the form of student coordinators.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a licensed primary school teacher and has a special education degree with a focus on mathematics. You are well acquainted with the school's governing documents and have a good ability to individualize and vary teaching to create a desire for learning. You have good knowledge of and enjoy working with digital teaching materials in your teaching. You are attentive and have good collaboration skills with students, parents, and colleagues. You value good relationships with students and have a positive view of students. You have a reflective approach and actively work to develop the school together with other colleagues based on research and evidence.

We place great importance on your personal qualities as the work requires flexibility, collaboration, and the ability to take initiative. Previous experience working as a special education teacher for grades 7-9 is an advantage.

Oxievångsskolan is a K-9 school located in Oxie. You can easily reach us by train, bus, or car. If you take the train, our beautiful school is no more than a five-minute walk from the train station. The school's outdoor environment is beautiful with both wooded areas and open green spaces that we use frequently in teaching. We also have close access to several recreational areas that we utilize.
