Workplace Description

The positions are located at Lund University, Lund Institute of Technology, Department of Building and Environmental Technology, Division of Water Resources Engineering.

The division conducts teaching and research on water resources, hydrology, and hydraulics. About 25 people work in the division, divided into categories of teachers/researchers, PhD students, technical-administrative staff, and student assistants. The assistants will perform tasks related to undergraduate education as well as some administration. The workplace is located in the V-building, on the LTH campus in Lund.

Job Responsibilities

As an assistant, your tasks may vary and should provide insight into the academic world at the faculty where you are studying. As a teaching assistant in Water Resources Engineering (VVRF10), you will guide students in the course Fluid Mechanics. You will also be responsible for exercises and supervise sessions (Thursdays and Fridays from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM). Some administration is involved. We will hire two assistants.

Qualifications

Eligible for employment as an assistant is someone who is admitted to education at the undergraduate or advanced level at the faculty (or related subjects for the joint institutions). The degree must not have been awarded.

Requirements for the position are:

  • Admitted to the W-program at LTH or equivalent education that the employer deems relevant
  • Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
  • Passed all courses in the W-program's years 1, 2, and 3 or equivalent courses in education that the employer deems relevant
  • Course grade of 5 (and possibly 4) in the course VVRF10 Fluid Mechanics or equivalent grade in a course deemed relevant by the employer

Desirable qualifications for the position are:

  • Highest grades in water resources engineering
  • Previous teaching experience
  • Patience and ability to express yourself clearly
  • Good ability to collaborate
  • Independence and initiative

Other

The employment is temporary from September 1, 2025, to October 31, 2025, and is for 10% of full-time, which on average corresponds to 4 hours per week.

The employment must not negatively affect the assistant's studies and cannot be combined with other employment. Regulations regarding educational employment as an assistant can be found in the Higher Education Ordinance (SFS 2017:284), Chapter 5, Sections 8-12. The employment is covered by the Working Hours Agreement for teachers.
