Our current colleague will retire at the end of the year, so we are now looking for a medical secretary for our well-functioning and appreciated unit in Trelleborg. The Unit for Palliative Care and ASIH (Advanced Supportive Home Care) is organizationally part of the Department of Close Care and Health, within the business area of Mobile Teams and Specialized Palliative Care in Southwest Scania. We offer specialized palliative care with the aim of relieving symptoms and preventing suffering in connection with incurable or chronic illness, regardless of age or diagnosis. Care can be provided as inpatient care on the ward with six beds, admission to Advanced Supportive Home Care (ASIH), outpatient care at our palliative clinic, at home, or in special housing. The care is specialized based on each individual patient's needs.
The operations in Trelleborg consist of teams with nurses, nursing assistants, social workers, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, dietitians, doctors, psychologists, and medical secretaries. We constantly work to develop and strengthen teamwork to create an attractive workplace. Each employee contributes their specific competencies, where our joint efforts make a significant difference for patients and relatives. Our catchment area is Trelleborg, Svedala, and Vellinge municipalities.

Job Description
As a medical secretary within our operations, you play an important role in the administrative part of the work.
At the unit, you handle administrative tasks such as managing referrals and registering in PASiS and Melior, while also supporting colleagues with administrative questions. Additionally, you work with other administrative tasks during working hours, primarily dictation typing for doctors and the subsequent printing of medical notes, letters, and certificates. You also perform other administrative duties such as daily incoming and outgoing mail, diagnosis registration, and writing meeting minutes. Specific areas of responsibility may also occur.
Your physical placement is in Trelleborg, where you are the sole responsible medical secretary, collaborating closely with colleagues located in Malmö at the Palliative Unit there. You are also part of a network with other colleagues in the department.
You work independently while participating in care processes together with other professions, where you contribute your administrative expertise. Our work is characterized by close collaboration, which provides good opportunities for cross-professional learning and development.
Qualifications
We welcome you if you have education in healthcare administration with 80 YH (University College) credits or 400 YH credits, or equivalent medical secretary education. Furthermore, you have good knowledge of medical terminology as well as the Swedish language, both spoken and written. We would like you to have good IT skills and experience handling systems such as Melior, PASiS, Itacih, Medspeech, Skånekatalogen, and 1177. It is an advantage if you have previous experience in the profession, as well as education and practical experience in disease classification.
For this position, we are looking for a person who is positive and has a good attitude towards both patients and relatives as well as colleagues. Additionally, you have a good sense of service and teamwork skills. In your work, you are independent, meticulous, flexible, and responsible. This includes, among other things, mobile teams and specialized palliative care, outpatient operations within close care, emergency care within close care, telephone 1177, and certain region-wide functions. Additionally, the department is responsible for the development and follow-up of the transition to close care in Region Skåne. The number of employees is estimated to be around 1,000.
