Do you want to contribute to a more sustainable and equitable city? As a Development Coordinator in the field of sustainability, you alternate between working on development projects and providing operational support to the entire administration – from development and investment projects to visitor destinations and event activities. You collaborate with colleagues across large parts of the administration and other areas of the city, as well as external actors such as property owners, businesses, and civil society.
Responsibilities
As a Development Coordinator, your main responsibilities are to lead, coordinate, and participate in projects and processes focused on developing the administration's sustainability work. This includes, among other things, work on safe and inclusive public environments and sustainability requirements in land allocation. You will also be involved in preparing decision support materials and statements on sustainability matters for various parts of the administration and the Technical Committee.
The role involves contributing to ensuring that the administration's investment projects and other operations support Malmö's goals for environment, equity, and safety. You are expected to develop methods to integrate sustainability into investment processes and operations. Furthermore, you are responsible for monitoring sustainability work, compiling experiences from completed projects, and ensuring that lessons learned are used to develop and improve the administration's working methods.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have a Bachelor's degree of at least 180 ECTS in political science, urban planning, sustainability, environmental science, or another area that the employer deems equivalent.
You have at least four years of experience working with sustainable urban development within public operations, property companies, or another actor that the employer deems equivalent. Additionally, you have practical experience in project and process management with a focus on sustainability issues in complex environments, preferably within municipal/technical operations, construction/property, or infrastructure. In relation to this, you have worked with follow-up, evaluation, analysis, and improvement. You have excellent command of Swedish, both spoken and written.
It is meritorious if you have experience with:
- work on children's rights issues, accessibility issues, or the needs of the elderly in urban environments
- procurement within the framework of the Public Procurement Act (LOU)
- work with certification systems within sustainable urban development (e.g., Citylab and CEEQUAL)
- preventive safety work in public environments
- change management
We are looking for you who are proactive, independent, and have a good ability to plan, prioritize, and structure work in an effective way that leads to results. Since the position involves various types of collaborations, we see that you have good teamwork skills, are communicative, and thrive in cooperation with others. Furthermore, you are solution-oriented and meet challenges with a creative approach. You also have a good ability to translate policy and goals into concrete actions, timelines, and measurable results.
About the Workplace
At the Environment and Sustainability Unit, you work in a team with specialists in various sustainability areas. The focus is on supporting colleagues in the administration to achieve the city's sustainability goals. Here, you are offered an exciting and meaningful position where you have the opportunity to develop by participating in many different types of projects and processes, as well as through competence development and further education.
