The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (BUP) inpatient care in Malmö is divided into three departments and an emergency clinic, with a total of 23 beds for children and young people from across Skåne. We meet children and young people who need psychiatric care, for example, in cases of acute suicide risk, life-threatening eating disorders, acute symptoms of mania, delusions, or psychosis.

At BUP Ward 1, there are seven care beds for patients with serious and complex child psychiatric problems. The work group consists of nurses, assistant nurses, family therapists, doctors, psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, coordinators, secretaries, and unit managers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a temporary staff member, you will become an important part of our operations. You will have a varied and meaningful job while supporting our operations when regular staff is absent. We value your commitment and the flexibility you contribute.

Working with families in crisis requires a therapeutic approach and good collaboration skills with all professional categories. As a temporary staff member, you work as care personnel and are the one working closest to the patient and relatives in daily work. Your tasks are very varied and include, among other things, daily care work, observations, educational meals, maintaining activities in daily life (ADL), activating patients for observational purposes, and daily support to patients and relatives.

The operation is staffed around the clock, and we may need substitutes for day, evening, night, and weekends.

For employment as a temporary staff member, we are looking for you who are educated or studying in the nursing program, social work program, psychiatric care program, university college, or comparable education.

QUALIFICATIONS

For employment as a temporary staff member, we are looking for you who are educated as an assistant nurse or studying in the medical program, nursing program, social work program, psychology program, or other comparable education. Since the work largely involves communication and documentation, good language skills in Swedish, both spoken and written, are required.

If you apply as an assistant nurse, you must meet the National Board of Health and Welfare's requirements for a protected professional title, regardless of whether you studied according to the previous or current program structure. Applicants who currently hold permanent employment with the professional title "skötare" (care assistant) can apply and will retain the professional title upon employment (at least until 2033, when the title "skötare" ceases within our operations). It is an advantage if you have experience working in psychiatry or with patients with mental illness. In addition, good computer skills and basic knowledge of our medical record system Melior are beneficial.

You have a genuine interest in psychiatric nursing and a person-centered approach. You have good prioritization skills and contribute to a safe and good working environment. For the role, it is important to be able to remain calm and have a good, low-affective approach in stressful situations, which is why we are looking for someone who is secure and stable as a person.

With a high sense of service and responsibility, you meet the situation that the patient and relatives are in with humility. You work independently, take initiative, and enjoy collaborating with others.

If you have not received your proof of a protected professional title, grades (not just a diploma) from your care and nursing education and grades in Swedish or Swedish as a second language at the upper secondary level must be attached.
