About the Department

Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (CAP) at Region Dalarna offers specialized care for children and adolescents up to 18 years old with serious mental health issues and/or neuropsychiatric disabilities. There is now an opportunity for you as a licensed psychologist to become part of our team at the CAP clinic in Ludvika. The position is primarily based in Ludvika, but work may also take place at other units within the department, which may involve travel. This role is ideal for you who want to work broadly with assessment, treatment, and investigation in a department that highly values teamwork, clinical quality, and professional judgment. Our mandate is broad and includes, among other things, trauma, depression, self-harm behavior, anxiety, OCD, eating disorders, sleep disorders, as well as neuropsychiatric disabilities such as ADHD and autism. We work in a multidisciplinary manner to ensure well-founded assessments and precise interventions with high quality. CAP Region Dalarna consists of five outpatient clinics as well as region-wide resources in the form of emergency teams, inpatient care (ward 68), family therapy unit, and eating disorder unit. We are on a journey of change where we are developing our working methods to meet future needs within child and adolescent psychiatry.

The CAP clinic in Ludvika is located at Ludvika Hospital, in pleasant premises and a quiet environment. Here, a professional and engaged team consisting of nurses, counselors, psychologists, doctors, occupational therapists, medical secretaries, and managers works together. The work climate is characterized by openness, collaboration, and a strong shared ambition to provide good care for children and adolescents. Responsibilities

  • Neuropsychiatric investigations of children and adolescents in collaboration with other professional categories.
  • Assessment of mental health issues within specialized psychiatry.
  • Psychological treatment, primarily CBT, individually and in groups.
  • Participation in team conferences and collaboration with guardians, schools, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Licensed psychologist.
  • Previous experience working in teams and previous experience working with children and adolescents.
  • Experience with psychiatric assessments as well as treatment and investigation work.
  • At least basic psychotherapy training in CBT.
  • Category B driver's license.

Merits:

  • Psychologist with specialist education in clinical child and adolescent psychology, clinical adult psychology, neuropsychology, or psychological treatment/psychotherapy.
