Are you ready to work in a socially vital role?
To ensure that all animals in Sweden have the conditions to live as good a life as possible, there are the District Veterinarians. With round-the-clock readiness, clinics across the country, and unique knowledge of animal health, we contribute to healthier animals and a more secure life. As district veterinarians, we work on behalf of private individuals, companies, and authorities. We offer socially vital services for emergency animal healthcare, disease control, and preventive measures for good animal health. Always with our feet on the ground and our hearts in the right place. The District Veterinarians are part of the Swedish Board of Agriculture.
Welcome to Southern Dalarna!
The District Veterinarians Southern Dalarna have their clinic in Hedemora. We consist of seven veterinarians, one animal care worker, and one veterinary nurse working in the district. A large part of the operations consists of field visits to farm animals and horses. At the clinic, there is a small animal clinic with three examination rooms, an operating room, a sterile room, dental care facilities, as well as a disease and blood laboratory.
We are now looking for an animal care worker with an eye for structure and service. You thrive equally well in caring for animals as you do in keeping things organized behind the scenes. In this role, you combine practical work with animals with administrative tasks such as invoicing, scheduling, and customer contact. You are a vital link in our team – both in meetings with animal owners and in ensuring the smooth operation of the business.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Your duties will largely consist of cleaning, laundry, dishwashing, and various orders. Answering customer calls is an important part of the job. You should be able to give advice, make an initial assessment, book appointments, and in emergency cases, coordinate travel to the nearest veterinarian. You will need to help out at both the small animal clinic, in the lab, and sometimes out in the field.
The work also includes some administration, such as coding invoices, scheduling, and certain documentation. Therefore, previous experience in administration is an advantage.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for you who are a Level 2 Animal Care Worker. Previous experience working in animal healthcare is a requirement. To thrive with us, you need to enjoy working in a team and have good collaboration skills. It is a requirement that you enjoy working at a fast pace, have the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and can work independently.
You will be answering phones and therefore need to have good communication skills and a sense for customer service.
A valid driver's license (Category B) is required.
Previous experience working in our journal system, Link, is an advantage.
We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
We warmly welcome your application!
