The Psychosis Area provides psychiatric interventions for individuals with psychosis-related issues. We adopt a holistic approach to mental ill-health, combining medical, psychological, and social interventions.

The Psychosis Area in Malmö aims to provide effective psychosis care through respectful treatment, enabling patients to live good lives. Our mission within outpatient and inpatient care is to assess, investigate, diagnose, treat, and rehabilitate patients diagnosed with schizophrenia, delusional symptoms, and schizoaffective syndromes, as well as any conditions where psychosis development is suspected. The Psychosis Area consists of four outpatient clinics and three inpatient units.

Ward 87 is an inpatient unit with 14 beds for patients with psychotic illness and disabilities, as well as first-episode psychosis. We are approximately 25 employees working on the ward.

Job Responsibilities

We are expanding our nursing staff and are now looking for new nursing colleagues who want to join our team. We always see new employees as an opportunity to develop our operations!

As a nurse, you are responsible for the care of our patients and participate in medication, assessment, and documentation in our medical record systems. We also place great emphasis on conversations with patients and teamwork with other professions on the ward, all to ensure more person-centered care. In addition, you collaborate with the unit's outpatient clinics, the municipality, and other care partners. Care documentation is performed in the Melior data system, according to the VIPS model.

Region Skåne is investing in increased competence development for nurses. For newly graduated nurses, there is a clinical base year that includes lectures, clinical skills training, and access to a mentor. For nurses who wish to specialize, educational benefits are offered in priority areas. The goal at the Psychosis Area is for as many nurses as possible to have further education in psychiatry, and we therefore continuously create opportunities for study leave.

We are also generous with other training, both internal and external, as we believe it is important that our employees continuously develop to be able to provide even better care to our patients.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a registered nurse with the right to practice in Swedish healthcare and have an interest in psychiatry. Proficiency in Swedish at level C1 or higher according to the Council of Europe's scale is a requirement.

As a person, you are flexible, have a positive attitude, and adapt easily to changed circumstances. You are engaged, driven, and view improvement and development work positively. Furthermore, you see good collaboration skills as a prerequisite for doing a good job and contribute to keeping the work group enthusiastic and positive. Additionally, you are secure, stress-resistant, structured, and meticulous in your work approach, and you have an empathetic attitude towards our patients. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
