Job Responsibilities

We are now looking for you who want to help develop the student health services at Bergaskolan in the role of School Nurse.

One of our two school nurses has moved on to another assignment, and we now need a colleague so that we can continue our joint work. The school nurse's duties include monitoring students' development towards knowledge goals, working health-promoting and preventive, implementing vaccination programs, organizing school doctor consultations, following the basic program, and performing simpler healthcare interventions. You are interested in working with preventive health work as well as handling the other common tasks for a well-functioning medical student health service. You have a desire to further develop a modern school nurse role together with the student health team, educators, and other colleagues in Malmö City's medical student health service. You work together with the school's student health team and staff and have a genuine interest in the school's students as well as a desire to support students in reaching their goals at school. As a school nurse, you will also collaborate with guardians as well as other operations and authorities outside the school. You work for a safe school environment that promotes health, learning, and security. The assignment also involves documentation in digital tools.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who already work as a school nurse or who want to develop further in your profession as a nurse. You are a licensed nurse with specialist education as a pediatric nurse, district nurse, or school nurse. You need to have at least two years of experience as a nurse, and it is meritorious if you already have experience working as a school nurse. It is also meritorious if you have experience in health-promoting work with children and young people.

As a person, you are structured and organized in your work, as well as responsible and secure in your role.

About the Workplace

As a school nurse, you report to a dual leadership. You are employed by the principal at the school, but you also have a central operations manager according to HSL who is the Medical Responsible. You have close cooperation with both managers, who are responsible for ensuring you receive a good introduction and ongoing support in your position. As a school nurse with us in Malmö City, you are part of a network together with other school nurses at our schools around the city. In the network, you meet regularly and have annual joint training on current topics.

Bergaskolan is a primary school (grades F-9) with an after-school center, as well as two classes in adapted primary school and short-term stay. There are two school nurses at the school. This advertisement is aimed at a school nurse with a focus on our older students. Of course, you work closely together within the entire student health service, and it is the principal who is the closest manager for our joint work for each student's development towards the school's goals.
