Do you want to use your technical expertise in an organization where data is used to analyze risks, track market developments, and create the basis for important decisions?

At the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority (FI), we are building a new analysis platform from scratch and are looking for several Data Engineers who want to help develop how data is used in our analysis and supervision work.

Here, you will have the opportunity to combine a passion for technology with knowledge of the financial market and how the Swedish and European financial systems function. At the same time, you will become part of a technical environment where knowledge sharing, individual responsibility, and collaboration are in focus.

About the job

As a Data Engineer, you will help build FI's new analysis platform. The platform is designed to give our analysts and specialists better opportunities to collect, process, and analyze data from banks, insurance companies, and other actors on the financial market.

We are looking for several Data Engineers with different experiences and specializations. Depending on your skills and interests, you may work with developing data flows, data platforms, data architecture, automation, or other solutions for data management and analysis.

You will work in cross-functional teams together with developers, analysts, and business specialists. The role involves significant individual responsibility and the opportunity to influence technical solutions, working methods, and strategic choices.

We use technologies such as Python, SQL, Kubernetes, Docker, dbt, and Apache Airflow. AI is a natural part of the development work and is used to enhance quality and productivity.

Here, you will have the opportunity to help build something new from the ground up while developing knowledge within an organization that has a significant impact on society.

You will work alongside colleagues with high technical competence, where learning and knowledge sharing are a natural part of everyday life. Our managers have their own background in development and a good understanding of the technical craft.

We also offer flexible working hours and a hybrid work model where you can typically work remotely for about half of your working time.

Your education and experience

We are looking for someone who

  • has an academic education in computer science, systems science, engineering, or another relevant field, or equivalent experience as assessed by the employer
  • has experience working in data engineering, data development, platform development, or related areas
  • has experience developing, processing, or making data available for analysis and business purposes
  • expresses themselves well in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.

It is an advantage if you

  • have experience with data platforms, data flows, or data architecture
  • have worked with technologies such as Python, SQL, Kubernetes, Docker, dbt, or Apache Airflow
  • have an interest in the financial market and data-driven analysis.

About you

In this role, you need to

  • have strong analytical skills and enjoy solving complex problems
  • take responsibility for your work and drive tasks forward
  • collaborate well with others and contribute to knowledge sharing
  • wish to develop and learn new technologies and working methods.
