10 Positions Available – Temporary Staff for Elderly Care, LSS, and Social Psychiatry in Falu Municipality

Falu Municipality is now seeking dedicated and compassionate temporary staff for our operations within elderly care, LSS (Support and Service Act for Certain Disabilities), and social psychiatry.

Job Responsibilities

Within LSS and Social Psychiatry:

You will assist individuals with functional variations, mental health issues, or special needs in managing their daily lives and achieving their goals. The work is varied and adapted to each individual's unique needs. Tasks may include:

• Personal Care and Daily Support: Assisting with personal hygiene, dressing, meals, and other daily routines.
• Practical Tasks: Supporting with cleaning, laundry, cooking, and shopping for the home.
• Social Support: Encouraging social activities and creating a meaningful leisure time for care recipients.
• Health Promotion Work: Strengthening mental and physical health through support that promotes a more independent life.
• Documentation and Medication Management: Documenting interventions and handling medications according to delegation.

Workplaces may include group or service housing, short-term facilities, day activities, social psychiatry units, or home-based support services.

Within Elderly Care:

The role involves supporting older adults in their daily lives and creating a secure, dignified, and meaningful existence. Tasks are varied and adapted to individual needs:

• Personal Care: Assistance with personal hygiene, dressing, meals, and medication. By treating care recipients with respect and sensitivity, you create security and conditions for a good quality of life. Some recipients have high care needs, meaning healthcare tasks are part of the job.
• Practical Help: Support with chores such as cleaning, laundry, and shopping to facilitate daily life. The work may also involve assisting with mobility to ensure safety and comfort.
• Social Support: Through walks, conversations, and activities, you create well-being and combat loneliness. You work to strengthen the well-being of care recipients, both physically and mentally.

You may work within home care services, care and nursing homes, or short-term facilities where the focus is primarily on rehabilitation after hospital stays.

Qualifications

Requirements for the role:

• Good computer and mobile phone skills.
• Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
• EU citizenship or a valid residence and work permit.

Meritorious Qualifications

• Education or experience in healthcare, social care, or social work.
• Experience with delegated healthcare tasks.
• Category B driver's license and cycling proficiency (required in some home care groups).
• Knowledge of MI (Motivational Interviewing) or low-affective handling.

Employment Terms

We offer temporary hourly positions as needed. You enter your availability into the system, but we prefer a minimum availability of 50%. Working hours are irregular and may include days, evenings, nights, and weekends.

Important to Know:

• You must be at least 18 years old for this position. The work involves night shifts, solo work, and medication delegation, which is not permitted for minors according to current regulations.
• To work within the care administration, you must meet the requirements to receive delegation for medication management. This involves reading educational material, taking tests, and participating in a briefing before a knowledge test. Therefore, good ability to read, write, and understand Swedish is essential.
• As of July 1, 2023, the title "nursing assistant" (undersköterska) is protected. Employment as a nursing assistant requires a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare.
