A career that makes a difference! With us, you contribute to a well-functioning society for the public and businesses. Our legal unit needs to grow with additional bailiff aspirants to work with qualified legal matters within various legal fields.

About the job

As a bailiff, you work within one or more of the Swedish Enforcement Authority's (Kronofogden) areas of operation: summary proceedings, enforcement, debt adjustment, and supervision in bankruptcy/reconstruction. You are responsible for the legal quality in case processing. Your work spans several legal fields, primarily insolvency law, enforcement law, property law, and summary proceedings.

  • In summary proceedings, you make qualified legal assessments in cases concerning payment orders, ordinary assistance, and special assistance.
  • In enforcement, you are an integral part of the authority's exercise of power during intervention enforcement measures and are responsible for the executive sale of real estate and housing company shares.
  • In debt adjustment, you investigate the conditions for debt adjustment in reconsideration and objection cases and make decisions in complex cases.
  • In bankruptcy supervision, you oversee that the bankruptcy administration is carried out correctly and are available to administrators when difficult questions arise. You also work with supervision of business reconstructors.

You also provide daily legal support to other employees, conduct training, perform legal research, make decisions, respond to referrals, and write opinions to courts. The role also involves representing the authority in various contexts and answering questions from the public and parties.

You undergo internal training for approximately one year. During the training, you will alternate between theory and practice and apply the law within our different operations. There is both an opportunity and an expectation to work in the different operational departments over time.

Everyone working at the Swedish Enforcement Authority contributes to the fight against crime. Your duties include identifying and preventing attempts at criminal activity and notifying other authorities of suspected crimes. As a bailiff/bailiff aspirant, you can, for example, counter various types of crime by providing legal support to bailiffs and case handlers. This can result in you contributing to preventing welfare fraud.

Possible locations are Luleå, Umeå, Östersund, Gävle, Uddevalla, and Visby.

About you

As an employee at the Swedish Enforcement Authority, you are expected to live up to our employee policy.

You take initiative, are engaged, and take responsibility for achieving goals. You contribute to the development of the operations and help your colleagues succeed. You treat others with respect, kindness, and actively listen, showing a positive attitude.

You are a skilled lawyer with the ability to translate your legal competence into practical operations. You can collaborate and communicate in a pedagogical manner, both orally and in writing. You are stable and trustworthy when meeting people in vulnerable situations. You work result-oriented, show drive, and work focused on what is to be achieved. You have analytical skills that allow you to see connections and find the most effective solution. You easily adapt to new legal fields and adjust to conditions and changes.

Your qualifications:

  • Nordic law degree
  • Completed Swedish notarial merit (notariemeritering)
  • Swedish citizenship
  • Driver's license for a car with manual transmission.

It is desirable that you have two years of current work experience in qualified legal work from a law firm, court, or authority in a decision-making role after completing your notarial internship.
