About the Workplace

The Child and Education Administration works on behalf of the Preschool Board and the School Board. The administration is responsible for preschool activities, school-age childcare, compulsory school, and adapted compulsory school. Our most important task is to give all children and students in Huddinge the opportunity to develop to their full potential in a safe educational environment. Here, all our employees play an important role in implementation.

Balingsnässkolan is a two-parallel F-9 school with an adapted compulsory school for grades 7–9. There are approximately 600 students at the school, of whom 22 students attend the adapted compulsory school. The staff consists of approximately 80 employees. Balingsnässkolan is a modern and beautiful building located in a nature-friendly row house and villa area in central Huddinge. The school has a large sports hall, practical-aesthetic rooms, and its own cooking kitchen. Students at Balingsnässkolan have access to iPads in preschool class, Chromebooks 1:1 in grades 1–9, and all classrooms are equipped with Smartboards.

We are organized in grade-based work teams, so-called "homes," where the educators in the team are responsible for and work together regarding all students in the grade.

We have two "Studios" at the school, which are support activities where students who need extensive support can receive instruction in a smaller setting for part or all of the school day.

The adapted compulsory school consists of 22 students in grades 7–9 and 8 educators who offer both school and after-school activities. The students are divided into three different, age-mixed groups. Their classrooms and after-school facilities are located in their own home centrally in the school building. Students in AGR share practical-aesthetic rooms and the cafeteria with the rest of the school.

About the Job

You will work as an assistant to a student in the adapted compulsory school in grade 7. You will follow the student throughout the day, both in the classroom and during after-school time, and support the student both in learning knowledge and in daily situations, transitions, and changes. Mentoring is not included, but you should be good at building good relationships with guardians and have regular contact with them.

The position is a 100% temporary assignment for one term. There is a chance for extension. You belong to the adapted compulsory school work team and have much contact with guardians and all teaching teachers.

About You

You have experience working as a student assistant. You should have at least a high school education within the nursing program, children and youth, or other education assessed as equivalent by the employer. You have the ability to see beyond students' limitations and, by preparing and anticipating, you can help students succeed.

You feel confident working with students in the adapted compulsory school and have good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish.

You are flexible and have very good cooperation skills, are good at building good relationships and collaborating with students, guardians, the work team, the school's student health team, and school management. You have the ability to create a work environment characterized by safety, trust, and respect.

You see yourself as an obvious part of creating good conditions for students' learning.
