About the Swedish Prison and Probation Service

The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will become safer and more secure for everyone. We are the agency responsible for prisons, probation services, remand prisons, and client transport.

The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is to provide education on the upcoming children's and youth departments; primary school, upper secondary school, adapted primary school, and adapted upper secondary school. The environment is designed to meet the specific needs of this target group within the Swedish Prison and Probation Service. The activity is part of the agency's nationally cohesive educational operations, which also include education equivalent to adult education (Komvux). It aims to provide every student with an equitable and high-quality education.

The education for children and young people is primarily conducted through on-site teaching, in a safe and structured environment. The education is integrated with other interventions within the Swedish Prison and Probation Service to support the development and future opportunities of the children and young people.

Job Description

The role of Educational Supervisor is similar to working as a teacher's assistant or student assistant in the school system. This means you support learners in their learning, contribute to structure and study environment, and facilitate the teaching teacher. However, you are not responsible for any own teaching or grading. You work closely with learners to create structure, motivation, and good conditions for learning. You provide practical and pedagogical support in studies and contribute to ensuring the study environment functions well. You will be placed at Rosersberg Prison. All work takes place at the prison.

Qualifications

In your role as an Educational Supervisor, you are a skilled educator with the willingness and ability to motivate, inspire, and lead learners to achieve their goals. You are clear and engaged in your work and have a good ability to create structure and systematic approaches. The work is carried out both independently and in close collaboration with colleagues, so good cooperation and initiative skills are important qualities, as is the ability to work independently.

You are also aware of and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect yourself and others. Furthermore, you are expected to contribute with your attitude to ensuring that everyone is treated equally. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

We are looking for someone who has:

• A high school diploma
• Experience working in educational activities in primary school, upper secondary school, and/or adapted school
• Ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish
• Good computer skills and experience working with digital support systems

The following is also meritorious:

• Educational qualification with a focus on school
