About the Swedish Prison and Probation Service
The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. Job Description
With us in the Network Technology Group, you get to combine advanced network operations with the opportunity to make a real difference.
Our team consists of a stable core of IT technicians, technical architects, and coordinating IT technicians. We are responsible for the various IT networks of the Prison and Probation Service. The group is a 3rd-line grouping and handles issues that our 1st- and 2nd-line support cannot resolve. As part of this group, you work with positive, engaged, and knowledgeable colleagues who have a strong drive to do a good job and benefit our operations.
The group works together to ensure the agency has modern, user-friendly, and secure solutions that simplify daily life for our operations.
The position of IT Technician involves working in a team responsible for the Prison and Probation Service's networks covering all of Sweden, where we are now looking for someone who can take on work within access networks and data center networks.
This may include, for example:
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining network equipment
- Monitoring network performance and troubleshooting network problems
- Ensuring network security and implementing security measures
- Collaborating with other IT specialists to support and improve our IT infrastructure
- Participating in projects to develop and optimize network solutions
Qualifications
We are looking for you who are proactive and independent. You also possess specialist knowledge that you continuously develop. You gladly share your problem-solving analytical skills with the team. You have good teamwork skills, which allows you to drive issues forward on your own while contributing to joint solutions.

We are looking for someone who has:
- Complete upper secondary education in the form of final grades or a high school diploma, or alternatively other education combined with experience that the Prison and Probation Service considers relevant.
- Relevant IT education with a focus on network technology.
- Experience working in large environments with high security requirements. Alternatively, this is included in completed education that the Prison and Probation Service finds relevant.
- Experience working with network equipment in one or more technologies such as routers and switches. Alternatively, this is included in completed education that the Prison and Probation Service finds relevant.
- Good knowledge of network protocols and security (DHCP, DNS, etc.).
- Very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
- Good knowledge of English, both orally and in writing, with experience communicating technical IT concepts.
The following are also meritorious:
- Relevant certifications.
- Experience working in IT support.
- Experience working in a 3rd-line grouping within a government agency.
- Category B driver's license.
