The Regimental Staff is the support function for the Commanding Officer to lead the regiment. Here, various representatives for different subject areas/functions handle and prepare cases on behalf of the Commanding Officer and the regiment.

Information about the position

You will work in one of the Regimental Staff's departments focusing on communications/command and IT (also referred to as G6) at the Air Defence Regiment in Halmstad. As a Chief Log Analyst, also referred to as Chief Security Log Administrator (HSÄKLOGGADM), you form an important part of a successful group, in an authority that is growing strongly. You are responsible for planning and developing the cyber defence organization at Lv 6, analyzing security logs for deviations, and participating in the investigation of IT security incidents. The Swedish Armed Forces are undergoing significant development, which also means having significant responsibility for supporting the introduction of new cyber defence tools and creating new functional procedures and regulations.

Main tasks

As HSÄKLOGGADM, you are primarily responsible at Lv 6 for handling security logs, such as collection, purging, archiving, and analysis, which involves processing large amounts of data and looking for deviations. Part of this work consists of proactively proposing solutions, streamlining, and simplifying procedures within the cyber function. Additionally, you will support the planning of IT operations and provide training and advisory support on IT matters to managers and employees. You participate in and lead projects within the management system area and subsequently draw up internal steering documents and other management system documentation for the operations.

Qualifications

• Relevant university education in data processing/log analysis or experience assessed as equivalent
• Experience of working in IT security, operations, and support.
• Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English
• Driver's license at least class B

Meritorious

• Experience in IT security or Cyber Defence
• Experience as a data analyst
• Experience with Linux & Windows operating system kernels
• Knowledge and experience of the Swedish Armed Forces' IT systems, processes, and governance model
• Experience of staff work
• Relevant work experience from another government authority

Personal qualities

The work requires high integrity and a high level of security awareness. As a person, you are analytical and scrutinizing with communicative skills in both speech and writing.
