As a Data Protection Officer (DPO), you actively assist the region's operations, as well as political boards and management, with data protection issues to meet the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

The main responsibilities include:

• Monitoring internal compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation and other data protection legislation
• Serving as the contact point for the supervisory authority, the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY), and conducting pre-consultations when necessary, e.g., reporting personal data incidents
• Supporting operations in conducting Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs)
• Informing, offering, and conducting training, as well as following up on training initiatives within data protection
• Monitoring the external environment regarding data protection legislation

Qualifications

We are looking for you with good knowledge of privacy legislation, such as the General Data Protection Regulation and the Patient Data Act. You are also familiar with other national and international legislation that may affect the processing of personal data. To fulfill the role of Data Protection Officer, you also need several years of experience in data protection work.

You are a team player who is open, solution-oriented, takes initiative, and shows respect for your surroundings and our operations. You have the will and ability to develop, are focused on achieving goals, and work systematically. Furthermore, you have the ability to work independently and in a structured manner. You understand legal and contractual texts within the area and can convey this knowledge in a pedagogical way adapted to the intended audience.

We consider it meritorious if you have:

• A law degree or equivalent
• Experience from working in healthcare
• Experience from working in public administration and politically governed organizations
