The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care (SiS) is an authority responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial problems and for adults with substance abuse issues. SiS also implements closed youth care. We do this in youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse problems across the country. At SiS, your working life becomes an exciting challenge. No matter where you work in our organization or what position you hold, you help create life-changing change.

SiS LVM-home Hessleby, located in a beautiful forest environment just outside Mariannelund, receives men with alcohol, drug, or poly-substance abuse. We have special competence in receiving clients with mental health issues or aggressive behavior. We are tasked with providing care for clients with special care needs.

Job Description

Do you want to be part of creating a life-changing difference for vulnerable people? Then the job as a Treatment Secretary at SiS is the meaningful work you are looking for. The starting point in our treatment work is to motivate people to new and less destructive ways of living. You work in a team of dedicated colleagues, and with your combined competence, you have the opportunity to achieve good results.

As a Treatment Secretary, you coordinate and are responsible for the clients' treatment at the institution, draw up treatment plans, handle authority contacts, and are responsible for documenting implemented treatment measures. You also support the treatment staff in their daily work. The Treatment Secretary plays a key role in ensuring that clients receive high-quality, individualized interventions based on their conditions and needs, working in close collaboration with other professions at the institution, such as treatment assistants/educators, treatment coordinators, nurses, doctors, and psychologists.

The Treatment Secretary contributes to the development of the institution's routines according to the authority's guidelines regarding treatment and investigation. The work is varied, which requires flexibility and responsibility. This means that to a large extent, you are a structural pillar, are meticulous, and organized. You understand the value and context of collaboration; it is natural for you to guide and support your colleagues. You are the initiator who anchors and implements decisions.

Our vision is to be a place for change, and this permeates our approach, our commitment, and our attitude.

You will work closely with unit managers and treatment coordinators on our various departments. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to collegial learning at the institution through various educational forums. If you are also passionate about your own development, there are many opportunities within SiS.

Qualifications

Your personal suitability is the key to life-changing change. Therefore, you need to have a good ability to create engagement and participation. Equally important is that you have a solid positive view of humanity, are empathetic, and can build good relationships. You have good communication skills and can maintain your calm even in pressured situations. You also have a good ability to collaborate with others and are happy to share your knowledge with colleagues.

You also need to have:

  • A university degree of at least 210 hp in social/behavioral sciences, e.g., a social work degree, or a university degree of 180 hp in behavioral sciences, or another university education assessed to meet SiS guidelines on competence requirements for coordinating/planning treatment work.
  • Experience in documentation regarding social investigations.
  • Good Swedish language skills, both spoken and written.

At SiS, we care about good employee relations. This means that as an employee, you take responsibility for your work, contribute to development, and participate in good collaboration.
