Statens institutionsstyrelse, SiS, is a government agency responsible for individually adapted involuntary care for young people with complex psychosocial problems and for adults with substance abuse issues. SiS also carries out closed youth care. We do this in youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse problems across the country. At SiS, your working life becomes an exciting challenge. SiS LVM-hem Hessleby, located in a beautiful forest setting just outside Mariannelund, receives men with alcohol, drug, or combined substance abuse. We have special competence in receiving clients with mental health issues or aggressive behavior. We are tasked with providing care for clients with special care needs.

 

Job Description

Do you want to be part of creating life-changing change for vulnerable people? Then the job as a Treatment Pedagogue at SiS is a meaningful challenge. As a Treatment Pedagogue, you work in a team together with treatment assistants and treatment coordinators. Together, you are responsible for ensuring that the young people and clients living with us receive the security, care, and treatment they need. We often meet people in crisis, which means you work with qualified nursing and motivational work and act as a support in daily life. With the support of your knowledge in care and treatment work, you actively contribute to the fulfillment of treatment plans. Documentation is an important part of your work and contributes to legal certainty, planning, and follow-up of our operations. You contribute to maintaining safety according to our routines and help ensure that daily life runs smoothly with school attendance, cleaning, cooking, etc. Contact person duties are also part of your responsibilities. The job may also involve mentoring new employees and interns. This is a job for you who sees a positive challenge in working with vulnerable people in difficult life situations. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

Working hours are according to schedule: days, evenings, and weekends.

Qualifications

To succeed in your work, you have a firmly grounded positive view of humanity. You are motivated to help people in vulnerable life situations and share SiS's value base, being a place for change. Furthermore, you have a good ability to create engagement and participation among our young people. As a person, you are confident in yourself and find it easy to build relationships with young people as well as with other staff members. You have good communication skills and can maintain your calm even in pressured situations. You find it easy to collaborate with others and can handle conflicts in a constructive way.

You must also have:

  • A degree from a 2-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or university college (KY/YH) with a focus on social/pedagogical treatment work, or education from a university that we assess as equivalent.
  • Category B driver's license.
  • Good Swedish language skills in speech and writing.

Employment:

The positions are permanent full-time positions and begin with a probationary period of several months. Start date according to agreement.
