The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care (SiS) is a government agency responsible for individualized compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse problems. SiS also operates closed youth care. We do this in youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse issues across the country. Working at SiS offers you an exciting challenge. SiS LVM Home Hessleby, located in a beautiful forest setting just outside Mariannelund, admits men with alcohol, drug, or polydrug abuse. We have specialized competence in receiving clients with mental health issues or aggressive behavior. Our mandate is to provide care for clients with special care needs.
Job Description
Do you want to make a life-changing difference for vulnerable people? Then the role of Treatment Assistant at SiS is a meaningful challenge. The goal of your assignment is to motivate our youth and clients toward new and less risky ways of living. As a Treatment Assistant, you are employed to provide care and treatment. You contribute to ensuring that department routines run smoothly and play a major role in the stability and security of our clients. You handle the basics of daily life, such as cleaning and cooking, and help maintain order and safety on the institution according to our routines. Documentation is an important part of the job. You will work on building secure relationships and contribute to ensuring our clients receive the security they need to break habitual behaviors. Together with your team of dedicated colleagues, such as treatment pedagogues and treatment coordinators, you have the opportunity to achieve good results and contribute to change. The job is often demanding, but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

Working hours are according to a schedule, including days, evenings, and weekends.
Qualifications
Your personal suitability is key to life-changing change. Therefore, you need to have a good ability to create engagement and involvement. It is equally important that you have a solid positive view of humanity, great empathetic ability, and the ability to build good relationships. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in pressured situations. You also have the ability to collaborate with others and are willing to share your knowledge with colleagues.
You must also have:
- A minimum 2-year post-secondary education from a folk high school or university college (KY/YH) or equivalent education. The education should be focused on social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant subject area.*
- Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., in psychiatry, HVB (care homes) operations, or healthcare and social care.
- Category B driver's license
- Good Swedish language skills (oral and written)

*Exceptions to the requirement of a minimum two-year post-secondary education may be made in individual cases if there are special reasons according to Chapter 5, Section 4 of the Social Services Ordinance (2025:468).
Employment:
The positions are permanent full-time positions and begin with a six-month probationary period. Start date by agreement.
