Do you want to work primarily with fisheries policy issues, engaging in dialogue with authorities, businesses, organizations, and other stakeholders, and representing the Ministry in various national and international contexts, particularly within the EU?

As a case handler, you will have the opportunity to work at the center of events alongside knowledgeable colleagues.

Your working day. Sweden's tomorrow.

The Unit is responsible for matters concerning commercial and recreational fishing, aquaculture, the fish processing industry, the EU's Common Fisheries Policy, the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund, and the management of fishery resources. Responsibilities also include fishery care and environmental issues related to fishing. The Unit is also responsible for matters concerning hunting and wildlife management, reindeer husbandry, state-owned land above the cultivation limit and on reindeer grazing mountains.

The Unit is now seeking a colleague who will work primarily with fisheries policy issues, including EU-related matters, as well as business, trade, and market issues. Other areas of work may also be included. This involves working on fisheries issues internationally, within the framework of the EU's Common Fisheries Policy and its national implementation, as well as purely national issues. The role includes preparing negotiation materials, instructions, processing cases, and producing background documents upon request from political leadership.

The work also involves maintaining dialogue with authorities, businesses, organizations, and other stakeholders, and representing the Ministry in various international contexts, primarily within the EU. It also involves working closely with colleagues in the fisheries area as a "team" and collaborating with other units and ministries on broad issues related to fisheries policy.
