Your Role

As a special needs educator/deputy principal, you have a central role in the operations. You will work closely with the principal in steering the school and closely with teachers to develop the school's special needs pedagogical competence and support students in need. Your work includes administrative tasks, leading development projects, handling documentation such as pedagogical investigations and action plans, and acting as a support person in pedagogical matters at various levels within the school. In the student health team, you play a key role in coordinating and following up on the adjustments and measures that have been decided.
Your role as deputy principal/special needs educator focuses on leadership and steering, preventive and health-promoting initiatives. This requires leadership skills as well as investigative and developmental work. We communicate primarily through Schoolsoft and work in a Google environment by sharing digital documents, calendars, and plans.
Your Profile
We are looking for you who are trained as a special needs educator and want to take on the role of deputy principal. You find it easy to collaborate with individual colleagues, program groups, and school leadership, and you are a natural part of the team, where you are unpretentious in your approach. You have good analytical skills and see opportunities rather than obstacles. A good ability to build trusting relationships with colleagues, staff, students, and guardians is crucial in your work.
We value your ability to meet staff and students based on their knowledge and needs, and that you identify with our value base and our keywords. Our students long to enter the working life, and your biggest task is to lead them there!
Be part of shaping the vocational education of the future!
Practical Gymnasium is the largest in Sweden within upper secondary vocational education. We strive to give our young people the best possible conditions to step into working life early. We know that a good vocational education results in jobs directly after graduation, but also a sense of hope for the future. We take our societal role very seriously, and our vision is to give our students the tools to change the labor market for the better. Our vision is reflected in our values.
AMBITION is about having high expectations of each other and our students. Through STRENGTH (KRAFT), we collaborate together around each student regardless of our roles. GLOW (GLÖD) reflects our pride in the important societal responsibility we as vocational educators have in Sweden.
A vocational education opens up opportunities to create one's own life, which develops society as a whole. We want to contribute to creating social benefit in this way, for young people who have their sights set on a specific profession, but also for young people who do not yet have a clear plan. Our role is to show the way by inspiring and training the workforce of the future. This is something that both society and our students win from.
What We Offer
The health and well-being of our employees is important to us. Therefore, at our schools, employees are offered benefits such as fitness subsidies, parental pay, and occupational health services.
In addition, Practical Gymnasium offers internal training for newly hired and non-certified teachers, and has an ongoing cooperation with various national higher education institutions that offer further education for teachers (VAL) to support our teachers in becoming certified.
